About this role

Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Cummins Delegation of Authority Policy, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. Expedites purchase or production orders as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality
Follows applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures.
Performs quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.) taking action to support Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
Works with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner.
Delivery
Initiates purchase and work orders to support the demand plan.
Participates on allocation calls with Sourcing Manager, supplier, and other Cummins entities to understand nature and impact of constraints.
Works with suppliers to reduce lead time and order quantities balancing supply with demand.
Collaborates with Supply Chain Planners across the organization to reposition excess inventory to locations with supporting demand.
Provides accurate, timely updates specific to inventory availability and back order recovery plans.
Manages part change requests and ramp up / ramp down activities to meet demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Reconciles order boards for critical suppliers, critical parts, and past due orders on a routine basis.
Supports the Deliver Supplier Improvement Process initiative to improve performance metrics.
Documents, communicates, and follows-up on action items impacting the ability to execute the plan.
Takes ownership and accountability for delivery of supplier schedules that supports end Customer needs.
Demonstrates the target level of proficiency in core competencies.
Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

Drive end-to-end supply chain performance by ensuring superior customer service, achieving Customer On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets, managing order fulfillment processes, optimizing trading supply chain operations, and implementing functional excellence through system-driven planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer OTD & Customer Service
Ensure achievement of Customer OTD targets for internal and external customers.
Monitor customer demand, order fulfillment status, and service level performance.
Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Warehousing, and Logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries.
Analyze delivery performance and implement corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.
Proactively manage supply risks to minimize customer service disruptions.

2. Order Management
Manage the complete order-to-delivery process.
Review customer orders, prioritize requirements, and ensure accurate order execution.
Monitor backlog orders and expedite critical customer requirements.
Ensure timely order confirmation, scheduling, invoicing, and dispatch coordination.
Resolve order-related issues through cross-functional collaboration.

3. Trading Supply Chain Management
Plan and manage trading product procurement and replenishment.
Coordinate with suppliers and distribution teams to maintain optimum inventory levels.
Monitor stock availability and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Manage inventory health, working capital, and product availability.

4. Functional Excellence
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across SCM processes.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Drive Lean, process optimization, and cost reduction projects.
Monitor key KPIs and implement actions for sustained performance improvement.
Support digital transformation and best-practice deployment across the organization.

5. System-Driven Planning
Utilize ERP, ASCP, and planning systems to drive data-based decision-making.
Maintain planning master data and planning parameters.
Improve forecast accuracy, material planning, and inventory optimization through system-generated recommendations.
Develop dashboards and reports to support planning reviews and business decisions.
Ensure effective adoption of digital tools, automation, and planning processes.
