About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We're an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries - which means we're big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It's an exciting time. We're building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact - at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you'll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

The opportunity

We're looking for an experienced actuary or insurance performance professional to join QBE in a newly created Planning & Performance Manager role supporting QPS (QBE Portfolio Solutions).

This is a highly visible position at the intersection of strategy, planning, pricing, portfolio management and business performance. Acting as the dedicated Planning & Performance partner for QPS, you'll play a key role in shaping business plans, leading pricing for QPS, monitoring portfolio performance and helping senior leaders make informed decisions that drive commercial outcomes.

Working across underwriting, actuarial, finance, capital, exposure management and reinsurance teams, you'll bring together complex information, challenge constructively and provide meaningful insight that influences priorities and actions. You'll also act as an important link between QPS, Underwriting Performance and the wider International CUO function, ensuring alignment across key initiatives and strategic objectives.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and embed planning and performance capabilities within QPS while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.

Your new role

- Lead the delivery of annual business plans, reforecasts and strategic planning activities for QPS.
- Coordinate underwriting, actuarial, finance, capital, exposure management and reinsurance assumptions to ensure aligned business planning outcomes.
- Review and challenge plans to improve robustness, credibility and alignment with strategic and portfolio optimisation objectives.
- Support planning submissions, governance materials, executive approvals and Lloyd's planning requirements.
- Identify planning risks, dependencies and delivery challenges, escalating where appropriate.
- Lead pricing activities for QPS, ensuring methodologies, assumptions and outputs align with Group standards and governance requirements.
- Coordinate renewal pricing activity and manage delivery across multiple stakeholders.
- Own the QPS performance management framework and provide oversight of performance against plans, forecasts and strategic targets.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and areas requiring management action.
- Deliver high-quality analysis and insight to support decision-making and business performance.
- Represent QPS across governance forums and support responses to internal and external performance requests.
- Act as a key liaison between QPS and the wider CUO organisation, ensuring priorities, initiatives and governance requirements remain aligned.

About you

- Nearly qualified or fully qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent).
- Experience in business planning, performance management, actuarial, portfolio management or a related insurance discipline.
- Strong understanding of insurance performance drivers, portfolio management principles and planning processes.
- Knowledge of the Lloyd's market and planning framework.
- Ability to translate complex data and business information into clear, actionable insight.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing and partnering with senior leaders.
- Experience supporting governance forums, executive reporting and strategic decision-making.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive positive outcomes.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and priorities.
- Experience working across underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk and related functions.
- Knowledge of portfolio optimisation and performance management frameworks would be advantageous.
