Our Duke Health Community Health Clinic is seeking a mission-aligned Family Medicine physician with strong clinical skills, supervisory capability, and the flexibility to deliver care across multiple community-based settings. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in interdisciplinary environments, values whole-person care, has a passion to serve the historically underserved population and is ready to grow into leadership roles that advance community health.

Position Summary

The Primary Care Physician provides full-scope outpatient care across the lifespan, 5 years +. The role includes practicing across multiple clinic sites including a high school based clinic where patients are primarily adolescents, the Just For Us home-based visits program which serves primarily older and disabled home bound patients, and our community based micro clinics which serve patients 5 and up, primarily adults, many of whom are underserved, un/under-insured, face multiple social and medical challenges and speak a language other than English. All clinics provide a mix of primary care, chronic disease management and urgent care.

This position works closely with Lincoln Community Health Center (the local FQHC), collaborates with Lincoln providers and leadership as part of our shared care model, and contributes to strategic initiatives that strengthen community health.

Candidates with leadership interest and aptitude for growth to eventually oversee our Just For Us home-based visits and community clinic programs are strongly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan, primarily serving historically underserved populations

- Supervise and support APPs; foster clinical development and team excellence

- Lead and provide care across multiple sites: High school student health clinic (adolescent-focused pediatric care) Just For Us home-based visits Additional community health clinics

- Meet documentation, access, and productivity expectations

- Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and population health initiatives

- Uphold clinic values of equity, respect, compassion, and accountability

Qualifications

- MD or DO required; MD/MPH or DO/MPH strongly preferred

- Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine

- Current North Carolina medical license (or eligibility to obtain) and current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)

- Experience supervising APPs or readiness to assume supervisory responsibilities

- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and commitment to underserved populations

- Interest in leadership and program oversight (Just For Us home-based visits program, community clinics)
