About this role
Are you passionate about helping adults with autism build skills, increase independence, and participate more fully in their communities? Linwood Center is seeking an experienced Behavior Technician, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), or Interventionist with a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support individuals across our Residential and Day Programs.
In this role, youll implement individualized behavior support plans, help staff apply behavioral strategies consistently, and support skill development in everyday settings. Youll work closely with the Behavior Services Program Manager and collaborate with internal and external behavior service providers to strengthen person-centered support.
Please note: This position does not provide the BCBA or BCABA clinical supervision required to obtain or maintain RBT certification. Applicants must have prior experience as a behavior technician or interventionist.
What Youll Do
- Implement individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and skill-building programs.
- Provide direct support and instruction to adults with autism.
- Guide and coach Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in implementing behavioral strategies.
- Collect, review, and maintain accurate data on behavior and skill acquisition.
- Assist the Behavior Services Program Manager with program planning, evaluation, and instructional strategy adjustments.
- Support daily living skills, community participation, vocational skill-building, and recreational activities.
- Develop and prepare instructional materials, including visual supports, task analyses, token economies, and related resources.
- Help translate behavioral recommendations into practical, staff-friendly procedures.
- Monitor implementation, identify barriers, and collaborate with internal and external behavioral service providers.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with agency policies.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience as a Behavior Technician, RBT, or Interventionist working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
- Ability to implement behavior plans and interventions effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information professionally.
- Patience, enthusiasm, energy, and an understanding approach to supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
- Respect for individual rights, choice, and self-determination.
- Ability to understand Linwoods philosophy and help teach its methods and approach to others.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time position, 35–40 hours per week.
- Work may take place at program sites, residential settings, and community locations.
- Flexible scheduling may include weekdays, evenings, or occasional weekends.
