Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer plans, develops, and implements manufacturing methods, procedures, and processes to produce high-quality parts in a world-class production environment. This role focuses on driving process improvements, supporting efficient production, and ensuring robust manufacturing practices in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and implement manufacturing methods, procedures, and processes to produce high-quality parts.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure robust and repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Participate in or lead process engineering projects, including the design and optimization of manufacturing workflows.
- Support the selection, specification, and implementation of tooling and equipment required for production.
- Use SolidWorks and other engineering tools to design or modify components, fixtures, and tooling to improve manufacturability.
- Contribute to automation initiatives to enhance throughput, consistency, and cost-effectiveness of production lines.
- Apply project management practices to plan, track, and deliver manufacturing engineering projects on time.
- Document manufacturing processes, standard work, and procedures to support consistent production and quality.
- Monitor process performance and implement corrective actions to address quality or efficiency issues on the manufacturing lines.
- Work hands-on with manufacturing lines to troubleshoot issues, support operators, and validate process changes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience working with manufacturing lines.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, including development and optimization of manufacturing processes.
- Proven background in process improvement and continuous improvement activities.
- Practical knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience with process engineering in a production environment.
- Ability to manage and support manufacturing projects using project management practices.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for engineering design and tooling or fixture development.
- Understanding of tooling requirements and their impact on manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with automation concepts in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on the shop floor and in the office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience applying Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.
- background in developing or improving manufacturing processes for high-quality, cost-effective production.
- Exposure to OEM or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving process issues.
- Ability to document processes clearly and support standardization and quality assurance.
- Comfort working both in an office environment and on the manufacturing floor.
Work Environment
The work environment includes both a modern office and a clean manufacturing floor. The office is bright, well lit, and very clean, with comfortable workstations and high-walled cubicles that support focused, quiet work. The manufacturing floor is also clean and well lit, with clearly marked safety lines that are easy to follow and relatively low forklift traffic. Personal protective equipment requirements are minimal and include ear plugs and safety glasses. The organization emphasizes efficient production, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, supported by strong engineering tools and processes in a professional, growth-oriented setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beatrice, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
