About this role
Summary
Supervise the maintenance operations for multiple MCW buildings. Responsible for proper operation of the automation systems which monitor temperature, ventilation and refrigeration critical to research functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage computerized system operations according to prescribed building requirements.
- Supervise contractors and maintenance personnel performing electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Ensure proper equipment and systems operation, correcting deficiencies through corrective action or recommendation.
- Monitor control devices through repair, replacement or calibration when required.
- Respond to alarms/systems emergencies as they occur.
- Conduct periodic equipment inspections and prepare daily operation reports ensuring the efficiency of systems operation.
- Train and supervise maintenance mechanics responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs to mechanical systems.
- Repair of mechanical equipment, trouble shooting of mechanical breakdowns associated with HVAC, refrigeration, water treatment and associated systems.
- Participate in the selection of maintenance personnel and conduct performance evaluations for existing employees. Maintain department schedule for assigned personnel.
- Place orders and make product recommendations. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of safety practices, emergency procedures, operations and maintenance, risk management, planning and evaluation.

Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum Required Education: Associate’s degree
Minimum Required Experience: 8 years
Preferred Experience: HVAC and refrigeration
Required Certification/Licensure(s): Wisconsin Driver License, HVAC/Refrigeration Certification, State and Federal Refrigerant Handling License

Physical Requirements
Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
