Location : This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to One Energy Plaza (OEP) located in Jackson, MI.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

This position is an enterprise role responsible for advancing a culture of integrity, strengthening the effectiveness of the ethics and compliance program, and serving as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization. This role operates with broad independence, leads complex and cross-functional compliance initiatives, and provides strategic support to the Executive Director of Ethics and Compliance. The Ethical Culture & Compliance Manager provides senior-level leadership for ethics and compliance program strategy, risk assessment, policy governance, training and communications, reporting, CARA reviews support, third-party and business conduct risk, and continuous improvement. The role helps ensure the program is well designed, appropriately resourced, effectively implemented, and continuously evaluated against evolving business, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop insight-driven reporting and materials for executive, governance, and board-level discussions, and coordinate meeting decisions and follow-up actions. Represent Ethics and Compliance in enterprise forums and maintain awareness of regulatory expectations and leading compliance practices.

- Advise leaders and employees on ethics, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, retaliation prevention, reporting obligations, and compliance risk. Maintain the Code of Conduct and related policies, translating complex requirements into clear, practical guidance applied consistently across the enterprise.

- Evaluate compliance program effectiveness using culture, survey, helpline, training, and case data. Identify trends and root causes, recommend improvements to training, policies, controls, and communications, and monitor corrective actions to support fair, timely resolution and a strong speak-up culture.

- Lead ethics and compliance risk assessments, monitoring, and control testing; prioritize risks, track remediation, and use data and trends to strengthen prevention and detection. Ensure programs, including CARA, align with DOJ expectations, ISO standards, and industry benchmarks.

- Lead enterprise ethics and compliance strategy, initiatives, and annual plans to strengthen ethical decision-making, a speak-up culture, and compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and company standards. Evaluate program effectiveness, recommend improvements, and provide executive-ready reporting.

- Lead the Regulatory Quality and Improvement (REG IQ) program, partnering with Accountable Authorities and senior leaders to standardize regulatory compliance and risk management. Implement the framework across high- and medium-risk areas, conduct program and control assessments, report findings, and drive improvements. findings.

Education/Experience Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of relevant experience

- [OR] Associate's Degree with 9 years of relevant experience

- [OR] High School Diploma with 11 years of relevant experience
