Position Summary
Feldkamp Mechanical is seeking a motivated Low Voltage Service Technician Apprentice to join our growing team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals interested in building a career in low voltage systems, including fire alarm, security, access control, CCTV, and communication systems. The apprentice will work alongside experienced technicians to learn installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of low voltage systems in commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the installation of low voltage systems, including fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control, and data cabling.

- Support technicians in troubleshooting and repairing system issues.

- Pull, route, terminate, and label low voltage wiring and cables.

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

- Perform routine testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance.

- Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in a clean and organized manner.

- Follow all company safety standards and job site requirements.

- Complete required apprenticeship training and certifications.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Interest in electrical, low voltage, or building automation systems.

- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.

- Ability to work with hand and power tools.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.

- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in mechanical spaces.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
