About the role
As an Automation Engineer , you will help improve software quality, release confidence and delivery speed across enterprise retirement applications. You will design, build and maintain scalable automated testing solutions that support continuous delivery and high-quality customer outcomes. Working closely with engineering, quality assurance, product and business teams, you will drive automation strategy and execution throughout the software development lifecycle. Success in this role is measured through automation coverage, defect prevention, release readiness and continuous quality improvement.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated test solutions using Java, Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber.
- Build reusable automation frameworks using Page Object Model principles and maintainable coding standards.
- Develop automated test scenarios from user stories and acceptance criteria and execute regression, integration and functional test suites.
- Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to support continuous testing practices.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, perform data validation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software quality and release readiness.
What you bring
Required qualifications
- Experience testing and automating web-based enterprise applications using Java, Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber.
- Hands-on experience developing automation frameworks, maintaining test suites and applying software quality assurance best practices.
- Knowledge of TestNG or JUnit, build tools such as Maven or Gradle, and continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
- Ability to perform application, application programming interface (API) and database validation, including writing SQL queries for testing and troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent practical experience, with strong analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience within the U.S. retirement industry, including defined contribution, defined benefit, pension or 401(k) solutions.
- Knowledge of retirement plan administration processes, including participant transactions, loans, withdrawals and distributions.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git, Azure Repositories or Team Foundation Server (TFS), and training or certification in test automation, Agile delivery or DevOps practices.
