About this role
Founded in Switzerland in 1968, Zühlke is owned by its partners and located across Europe and Asia. We are a global transformation partner, with engineering and innovation in our DNA. We're trusted to help clients envision and build their businesses for the future – to run smarter today while adapting for tomorrow’s markets, customers, and communities. Our multidisciplinary teams specialise in tech strategy and business innovation, digital solutions and applications, and device and systems engineering. We excel in complex, regulated spaces including health and finance, connecting strategy, tech implementation, and operational services to help clients become more effective, resilient businesses.
If you share our values and want to do the best work, for the right reasons, we can offer you the chance to do it on a global scale and play a real role in shaping our exciting journey.
The role
We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer with a solid programming background to help Zühlke rethink and improve the way it works, using AI where it adds real value.
In this role, you will work with process owners across the company to identify where AI can make work faster, simpler, or better. You will then redesign those processes and build the tooling that supports them, bridging the gap between what AI tools can do and how teams actually work.
You will do all of this as part of a small cross-functional team, working closely with the CTO office, IT, and Group Functions to turn ideas into working prototypes and production-ready solutions using LLMs, AI agents, and automation.
As our technology landscape evolves, this role offers opportunities to take on broader responsibilities and ownership within the domain, depending on organisational needs and individual strengths.
How you’ll make impact
• Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for AI-enhanced redesign.
• Redefine processes together with process owners, combining AI tooling with practical automation.
• Design, build, and integrate AI-enabled solutions, from prototypes to production-ready tools.
• Develop integrations, scripts, and workflows using LLM APIs, AI agents, RAG, and similar technologies.
• Assess AI use cases for feasibility, business value, cost, and risk before they are implemented.
• Measure the impact of redesigned processes and iterate based on the results.
• Document solutions and support teams as they adopt new AI-enabled ways of working.
• Support and coach teams on how to use AI effectively in their daily work, helping them adopt new tools and AI-enabled ways of working.
What’s important to us
• Solid programming background in one or more languages such as Python, TypeScript, Java, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling such as LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, agent frameworks, RAG, or workflow automation platforms (e.g. Claude, Microsoft Power Automate or Copilot Studio).
• Enough understanding of AI capabilities and limitations to judge where AI genuinely improves a process and where it does not.
• Interest in how work gets done, and the ability to analyse, map, and improve processes.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, and cloud platforms.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders.
• A pragmatic, hands-on approach, curiosity, and a continuous learning mindset.
•Experience working across different business environments and processes, ideally gained in a consulting or professional services environment.
•Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, from senior leadership to operational teams.
• You communicate confidently in English and work effectively in an international environment with colleagues, internal customers, and other technical teams.
If you feel you don't meet all the requirements, we are still happy to get to know you, learn more about your ambitions and ideas and look forward to receiving your application!
