About this role

SAIC is seeking a systems-minded Digital Engineer who want to make a meaningful impact on national security as members of a high-performing Digital Engineering team supporting the U.S. Space Force’s Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission area evolutionary ground segment. This engineering role can support various team members as we shape system concepts, model operational needs, inform requirements, and support both a prime contractor and USSF partners in developing next-generation OPIR capabilities. Location is either in Dayton, Ohio or Boulder, Colorado

Job Duties:

- Develop digital models of operational concepts and stakeholders need for a modular open systems approach (MOSA) architecture hosting high-performance data-processing applications.
- Model and support the analysis of system requirements that address identified stakeholder needs.
- Deliver digital modeling artifacts that support development teams in releasing integrated hardware and software solutions.
- Develop digital modeling artifacts to document system architecture, requirements, verification status, and development roadmaps.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0-2 years of related experience
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) using SysML 1.x through academic or professional work.
- Familiarity with IEEE 15288 systems engineering processes.

Desired:

- Two or more years of Cameo experience.
- Prior experience in software engineering, high-performance computing, or remote-sensing data processing.
- Experience developing scripts, integration tools, or domain-specific languages (DSLs) for modeling.
- Experience with DoDAF, UAF, or SysML 2.
