As a Private Asset Valuation Vice President in the Global Special Situations team, you own periodic valuations across a range of private credit and private equity assets and deliver reporting to a broad stakeholder base. You serve as the primary point of coordination between external valuers, the investment team, the finance team, and the Chief Investment Officers to ensure accuracy, robust controls, and timely delivery in line with fund governing documents and fair value standards. You partner with the Head of Finance, the Chief Operating Officer, deal support, and marketing to translate portfolio activity into clear financial insights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end periodic valuations across the private asset portfolio, spanning private credit (performing, stressed, and distressed) and private equity investments
- Coordinate the valuation process across external valuers, the investment team, the finance team, and the Chief Investment Officers to ensure timely and accurate delivery aligned to fund governing documents and fair value standards
- Direct preparation and reconciliation of quarterly net asset values, financial statements, income and expense accruals, commitments, and related fund accounting activities
- Oversee accounting for portfolio companies, including wholly owned fund subsidiaries and operating companies
- Review fund administrator work outputs to confirm quality standards and delivery timelines are met
- Produce daily reporting covering profit and loss, cash, and expenses, highlighting key drivers and trends
- Partner with the broader team and key stakeholders to deliver portfolio and investor information that supports decision-making
- Prepare materials for valuation and risk committees and support fund board meetings, including board packs and minute-taking
- Support audit coordination and completion, including resolution of open items and alignment to annual audit timelines
- Implement the new fund accounting system and build automated solutions to drive efficiencies across finance workstreams
- Manage relationships with investors and internal stakeholders as a key point of contact, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely reporting
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Hold a recognised professional accounting qualification or demonstrate active progress toward qualification
- Earn an Accounting and Finance degree with a strong academic background
- Demonstrate experience in, or strong exposure to, valuation of private assets across private credit and private equity
- Apply familiarity with International Private Equity and Venture Capital valuation guidelines and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles fair value principles
- Evidence ability to coordinate multi-party valuation processes involving external valuers, investment professionals, and senior leadership
- Show understanding of alternative fund structures, including distressed and special situations, opportunistic performing credit, and event-driven strategies
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders while working independently with cross-functional teams
- Prioritize competing deliverables under pressure with strong organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- Demonstrate ability to identify opportunities for artificial intelligence and automation integration within operational workflows, including experience evaluating, implementing, or governing solutions to achieve scalable process improvements and strategic objectives
- Evidence experience implementing a fund accounting system and delivering automation to reduce manual effort and improve controls
- Show exposure to supporting fund formation and structuring activities for new fund launches
- Demonstrate experience preparing materials for valuation and risk committees and supporting fund board governance activities
