Lab Technician and Test Engineer
The Opportunity:

When a user operates equipment, they expect it to be intuitive, functional, and run smoothly. That’s why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test, repair, and maintain hardware and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best equipment possible.

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to Troubleshoot and Repair custom designed electronics for the U.S. Air Force and develop recommendations for future improvements. You'll use lab diagnostic equipment to diagnose and maintain the vital equipment for verifying the Aircraft Monitor and Control Testers used by our customer. You'll maintain logs of faults and repair actions and assist the team with generating new ideas for improvements to the equipment. You’ll perform component level repairs to ensure the hardware is always maintained in a mission ready state.

You’ll assist the team in conducting inspections and depot level repairs in accordance with developed processes. Utilizing lab diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and time domain reflectometers you will troubleshoot faults and document as necessary. You'll solder surface mount components and conduct cable repairs. You will assist the team in ensuring industry standards for electrostatic discharge and lab safety are complied with. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity to assist the U.S. Air Force in maintaining their aircraft in a mission ready state and increase your skills as a Test Engineer and Technician while furthering your knowledge in AMAC systems, 1553 Communications, and Avionics while sharing your testing experience with your team.

You Have:

- Experience with soldering surface mount components on printed circuit boards
- Experience with cable repair
- Experience with lab diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or TDRs
- Knowledge of Lab Processes
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
