About the Position

The Senior PC/LAN Technician provides advanced technical support to MCAO staff, serving as a subject-matter expert on complex hardware, software, and workstation issues. This position supports daily IT operations, assists with escalated technician requests, participates in technical projects, and ensures reliable end-user computing environments. The Senior PC/LAN Technician also acts as a mentor, and an escalation point for junior technical staff and collaborates closely with IT teams to meet service objectives.

We Require

- Five years of experience in computer repair, desktop technical support, or technical support analyst roles
- High school diploma or GED
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Other Requirements

- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License at the time of hire
- Must obtain ACJIS Criminal Justice Practitioner Certification upon hire or promotion and maintain certification throughout the course of this assignment
- Requires on-call and overtime availability for after-hours inquiries, incidents, and alerts
- May be required to testify in court proceedings
- May be required to travel to perform certain work functions

Job Contributions

- Provides advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex hardware, software, operating system, and network issues across all end-user devices; serves as an escalation point for Help Desk and PC/LAN staff, and provides mentoring and backup support during high call volume
- Supports computer deployments, imaging, upgrades, and configurations, and manages full device lifecycle activities, including provisioning, patching, replacement, and decommissioning
- Supports technical projects and acts as a liaison between end users and technical teams
- Evaluates hardware and software solutions; assists with installation, compatibility testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Maintains inventories of PCs, peripherals, and related assets, supporting asset tracking and lifecycle reporting
- Develops and maintains technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures
- Contributes to process improvements and best practices for desktop support operations
- Provides onsite and remote support for meetings, presentations, and courtroom technology setups

Working Conditions

- The Senior PC/LAN Technician will maintain a physical presence during MCAO business hours, from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- This role requires strong listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-stress situations while handling a high volume of calls with minimal supervision. The specialist must resolve and escalate issues professionally and communicate effectively with all ITD teams.
- The position requires adaptability, resilience, and a positive approach to shifting priorities. Success depends on strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. Building trust with approximately 30 ITD team members and over 1,000 users is essential.
- This position requires the use of personal or County vehicles for County business. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and be physically capable of safely operating vehicles. The use of personal vehicles for County business is contingent upon authorization and adequate personal insurance coverage. This role involves reaching overhead; sitting; standing; crouching, crawling; lifting over 40 pounds from the floor to the waist; pushing, pulling, or carrying over 40 pounds for extended distances when installing systems and equipment.
