About this role
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk. IBM has openings for Analog Design Interns to be part of the team that is responsible for delivering our high speed SERDES interfaces for IBM Power and Z microprocessors in advanced 3nm technologies and beyond. Possible roles and responsibilities: Help your new team transition the high-speed IO architecture from NMZ to PAM4 in support of future IBM microprocessors. Use a combination of industry standard and IBM proprietary tools to design, simulate, and layout your circuits. Have an opportunity to work on transmitter, receiver, PLL, or other analog designs. Learn what it takes to develop and deliver complex analog circuits for IBM products. Perform schematic level design using Cadence design tools Perform in-depth circuit analysis using Spectre and spice simulators Analyze the design for manufacturability and end of life requirements Develop various scripts to parse data using languages like Python Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Relevant Circuit Design course with applied experience in circuit design Use of Cadence and Spice tools Understanding of VHDL, Python, Perl, TCL Pursuing a degree in MS in Electrical Engineering with a specialty in Analog Circuit Design Relevant Analog Circuit Design course Understanding of Interface terminology such as NMZ, PAM4, CTLE, DFE, PLLs, RX, TX and how these work within a High-Speed interface United States Infrastructure & Technology Hybrid Internship ROCHESTER, US (0147) International Business Machines Corporation
