Line Cook

Looking for a reliable, hard-working individual with a passion for school food, expanding young pallets, and cooking for a program focused on creating unique, delicious and nutritious meals. Responsibilities include preparing a fresh and diverse salad bar, hot lunch items, setting up a sandwich station, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Help prepare hot and cold lunch items daily according to menu and chef's instructions, set up serving stations, serve lunch to 500+ patrons, catering set ups as needed. Cleaning and organization of kitchen.

Qualification/Experience

- Culinary School degree or 2-5 years of kitchen experience
- Catering experience a plus
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining an exceptionally clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Prior experience in catering, restaurants, and/or formal culinary school training is required.
- NYS Food Handlers Certificate or ServSafe certified a plus
