Are you a strong operational leader who can manage audit teams, client relationships, financial findings, and program performance from start to finish?

About the Role

The Director, Audit Operations is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of supplier tooling and banked inventory audit programs. This role oversees audit operations, field resources, client governance, quality assurance, financial analysis, reporting, and overall program performance across multiple supplier locations.

In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure audits are completed on schedule, findings are accurately documented, risks are appropriately escalated and identified recovery and cost-avoidance opportunities are supported through resolution.

The Director will serve as a key client-facing leader, partnering with Purchasing, Finance, Vendor Tooling Engineering, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive high-quality execution, contractual compliance, continuous improvement, and measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of supplier tooling and banked inventory audit programs.

• Provide strategic direction and operational leadership across multiple audit workstreams, supplier locations, and field teams.

• Manage audit schedules, resource assignments, capacity planning, workload balancing, and overall program delivery.

• Ensure audit activities are completed in accordance with contractual requirements, established procedures, and client expectations.

• Lead client governance meetings, operational reviews, executive updates, risk management, issue resolution, and change-control activities.

• Monitor key performance indicators including audit completion, cycle time, quality, findings, financial opportunities, and client satisfaction.

• Lead technical auditors, inventory auditors, analysts, and other supporting resources.

• Oversee pre-audit planning, scope validation, supplier prioritization, risk assessments, documentation reviews, sampling strategies, and site planning.

• Review and approve audit findings, workpapers, reports, and executive summaries for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and traceability.

• Serve as a senior operational liaison between Conduent, client stakeholders, and supplier representatives.

• Partner with Purchasing Buyers, Finance, Vendor Tooling Engineering, and other key stakeholders to resolve audit findings and operational issues.

• Present audit progress, findings, risks, trends, financial exposure, and recovery or cost-avoidance opportunities to client leadership.

• Oversee reconciliation of tooling purchase orders, supplier quotes, invoices, payment documentation, inventory records, and related financial information.

• Ensure identified recovery, cost-avoidance, policy deviations, and inventory discrepancies are appropriately validated and supported by documentation.

• Support resolution activities including debits, purchase-order modifications, piece-cost adjustments, and supplier negotiations as directed by the client.

• Analyze trends across suppliers, programs, locations, audit categories, and financial findings to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

• Establish consistent quality standards, audit procedures, reporting templates, and documentation expectations.

• Drive continuous improvement across audit methodology, standard work, reporting, quality, and operational processes.

• Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning.

• Manage program performance, resource utilization, productivity, engagement revenue, margin, and delivery within the Director’s span of responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, or a related field.

• Seven or more years of experience in audit, supplier management, manufacturing operations, inventory control, finance, consulting, program management, or a related area.

• Three or more years of leadership experience managing teams or complex operational programs.

• Experience working within automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or complex manufacturing environments.

• Demonstrated experience leading client-facing programs and communicating with senior and executive-level stakeholders.

• Strong knowledge of audit operations, financial reconciliation, supplier management, risk management, and quality assurance.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, resources, and supplier locations simultaneously.

• Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to identify, validate, and communicate financial findings and business opportunities.

• Strong executive communication, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Experience with ERP, warehouse management, inventory management, or financial reconciliation systems.

• Experience identifying, substantiating, and tracking financial recovery and cost-avoidance opportunities.
