The Pharmacy Technician Specialist I assists pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications and is accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician Specialist I, the coworker may engage more complex medication distribution processes, have additional department responsibilities, and/or function in specialized areas of responsibility.

Are you a certified or aspiring Pharmacy Technician looking to take your career beyond the traditional retail setting? Mercy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist I - CSC Repack to play a critical role in our Central Service Center pharmacy operations. In this specialized position, you'll work with advanced pharmacy technology, contribute to medication safety initiatives, and support the preparation and distribution of medications that impact patient care throughout our organization.

What You'll Do
- Prepare, compound, package, and distribute medications under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced pharmacy automation and robotic dispensing equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, medication ordering, and workflow optimization.
- Support medication repackaging and distribution processes that ensure patients receive safe, accurate therapies.
- Utilize electronic health records and pharmacy software systems to support pharmacy operations.
- Train and mentor new pharmacy coworkers while serving as a resource within the department.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to maintain the highest standards of medication safety and service excellence.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Licensure
- Active registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy, or the ability to obtain registration by your first day of employment
- Must complete fingerprinting and FBI background check requirements
Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience required
Certification
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required within 6 months of hire
