2nd Shift Packaging Associate
Pay Rate: $17.50 / hour
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 3:45 PM – 2:15 AM
Location: Manufacturing Facility
Position Summary
We are seeking detail-oriented Packaging Associates to join our team. In this role, you will follow batch records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to inspect products at every stage of the packaging process, ensuring items are properly prepared for shipment.
Key Responsibilities
Stock & Sort: Handle packaging supplies including film, boxes, lids, bottles, ink, and labels.
Inspect & Verify: Examine materials and finished products to ensure high quality; check lot numbers, expiration dates, and packaging specifications.
Package & Seal: Place materials into containers or cartons and seal them securely using hand tools, tape, and fasteners.
Quality Assurance: Remove damaged or defective items and immediately report issues to Management or Quality Assurance.
Sanitation & Safety: Clean and sterilize equipment and tools according to guidelines, report unsafe conditions, and follow all facility safety protocols.
Support: Transfer materials and supplies between work areas and assist with other duties as assigned.
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Complete a Background Check and Drug Screen prior to start.
Complete Client-Specific Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Training.
Badge Requirement: New starts must bring $15 to receive a security badge (refundable upon return of the badge). Alternatively, standard state/photo IDs can be surrendered daily.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor for product quality.
Familiarity or experience with food production/manufacturing processes.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable attendance and punctual habits.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Physical Effort: Frequently standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and move up to 100 lbs using a pallet jack. Requires manual dexterity and sharp visual acuity.
Environment: FDA-regulated manufacturing setting. PPE may be required in designated areas. Regular exposure to manufacturing noise and airborne particles (including potential allergens). Ability to manage steady-paced deadlines efficiently.
