Starting Salary Range:   $43,000 - $46,500

Agape has a current opening for a TeamWorks Career Services Youth Connector. As a poverty-reduction initiative, Agape,  through a hope-centered, two-generation approach that equips youth and young adults impacted by violence to pursue meaningful career and life pathways. Working within communities, the Youth Connector builds authentic relationships with participants while providing individualized support, workforce readiness instruction, career exposure, mentorship connection, digital and AI literacy support, work-based learning coordination, and resource navigation.

This role creates engaging and safe environments where youth can identify strengths, explore future possibilities, and develop agency, pathways, and willpower toward their goals. The Youth Connector serves as both a connector and advocate, helping participants strengthen emotional wellness and workplace readiness while accessing workforce, employer, mentorship, technology, and community resources that promote long-term stability and opportunity.

Operating within Agape’s place-based strategy and TeamWorks workforce model, the Youth Connector collaborates with employers, mentors, community organizations, violence intervention partners, and internal teams to support participant success while ensuring high-quality service delivery, data integrity, and continuous quality improvement.

This role is primarily community-based and supports TeamWorks cohort activities, employer engagement, mentorship, and work-based learning opportunities. The position may require a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Youth Engagement & Workforce Pathway Development

- Build trusting, strengths-based relationships with youth and young adults impacted by violence through consistent engagement, meaningful support, and hope-centered coaching.

- Facilitate individual and group-based workforce readiness, career exploration, workplace success, and employment preparation activities.

- Create engaging and hope-centered environments where participants can identify meaningful goals, explore career interests, and build pathways toward employment and long-term economic mobility.

- Support participants in identifying strengths, overcoming barriers, and developing actionable workforce and employment plans.

- Assist participants with workforce preparation, employment readiness, career exposure, employer engagement, and connection to paid work-based learning opportunities.

- Facilitate pre- and post-assessments and use participant outcomes to guide service planning, engagement, and support.

Participant Support & Resource Coordination

- Conduct individualized needs assessments in partnership with participants to identify barriers that may affect workforce participation, stability, and employment success.

- Develop and monitor individualized service plans aligned with participant voice, choice, workforce goals, and hope-centered goal planning.

- Coordinate and connect participants to supportive services, including transportation, childcare, emergency assistance, workforce supplies, internet support, technology access, and stabilization services as available through the TeamWorks VCIF initiative.

- Respond appropriately to emerging participant needs through referrals, advocacy, collaboration, and connection to available supports.

- Coordinate cohort activities, workshops, mentorship opportunities, employer engagement, industry exposure, and work-based learning experiences that strengthen participant engagement and promote long-term success.

Hope-Centered Practice, Emotional Wellness & Participant Empowerment

- Apply hope-centered and strengths-based practices that reinforce goals, agency, pathways, willpower, resilience, and workforce persistence.

- Support emotional wellness and workplace readiness through activities focused on emotional regulation, resilience, communication, conflict resolution, and workplace success.

- Encourage participants to identify personal and career goals and actionable steps toward employment, stability, and long-term economic mobility.

- Support a culture of dignity, belonging, empowerment, accountability, and resilience for all participants.

Employer, Mentorship & Work-Based Learning Collaboration

- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with employers, mentors, workforce partners, community organizations, and violence intervention partners that support TeamWorks participant pathways.

- Connect participants to employer mentorship focused on career exposure, networking, leadership development, workplace readiness, and hope-centered goal planning.

- Support real-life work experience opportunities, including job shadowing, paid work experiences, industry tours, and employer-hosted learning opportunities.

- Represent Agape and TeamWorks professionally in meetings, trainings, employer engagements, cohort activities, and community events.

Digital/AI Literacy, Data, Documentation & Continuous Quality Improvement

- Support participant engagement in AI and digital literacy activities, including AI fundamentals, prompt engineering, digital literacy, workplace AI applications, and AI-assisted career development.

- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant participant documentation within Agape’s applicable case management and program tracking systems.

- Track participant enrollment, attendance, cohort participation, mentorship access, work-based learning, employment placement, workforce attachment, and other required outcomes in accordance with program and grant expectations.

- Utilize data to inform participant support strategies and contribute to continuous quality improvement and outcome reporting.

- Participate actively in Agape’s Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) processes and standards of excellence.

Organizational Engagement

- Participate actively in TeamWorks meetings, supervision, training, cohort planning, and professional development opportunities.

- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, agency trainings, employer activities, and community engagement activities as assigned.

- Maintain positive and effective communication with Agape staff, participants, employers, mentors, partners, and stakeholders.

- Support organizational priorities aligned with Agape’s mission, values, strategic direction, and TeamWorks VCIF anticipated outcomes.

- Perform other duties within the general scope of the role as assigned by leadership.

Professional Responsibilities

- Maintain positive and productive relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) and those we serve in the community.

- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and approved and planned relevant workshops, seminars, and training events.

- Participate in other Agency functions, i.e., community awareness events, advocacy activities, etc.

- Participate in agency planning and development, especially specific to programmatic-related areas.

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

- Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing stairs within schools and community sites as well as workshops and other events.

- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Workforce Development, or a related field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working with youth, young adults, workforce development, employment services, or community-based services.

- Demonstrated experience engaging diverse populations and delivering culturally responsive, strengths-based services.

- Experience facilitating group instruction, workforce readiness workshops, youth engagement activities, or career development activities.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and the ability to learn additional organizational, digital learning, and program tracking platforms and systems.

- Experience utilizing case management or participant tracking systems and maintaining accurate participant documentation.

- Strong organizational, problem-solving, relationship-building, and time management skills.

Preferred

- Experience in workforce development, career coaching, employer engagement, mentorship, or work-based learning coordination.

- Experience supporting digital literacy, technology-based learning, or AI-assisted workforce activities.

- Experience implementing strengths-based, trauma-informed, or hope-centered approaches with youth and young adults.

- Knowledge of community resources, workforce ecosystems, employer partnerships, and employment pathways.

Additional responsibilities include flexibility for evening and weekend work as needed, reliable transportation for business use, including a current driver’s license and current auto insurance with acceptable coverage levels, and engagement in Agape’s Performance Quality and Improvement standards of quality & excellence.
