About this role

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Food & Beverage Manager(s) and/or Casino Shift Manager, this position is responsible for providing exceptional guest service as a Food & Beverage Server and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage department in a Dual Food & Beverage Supervisor capacity as scheduled and required.

In the F&B Server capacity, the position is responsible for serving guests at a counter, restaurant, casino floor or bar, while ensuring a safe, welcoming and service-oriented environment.

In the Dual F&B Supervisor capacity, the position provides operational and team leadership support for front of house and/or back of house Food & Beverage operations. The position supervises team members, supports shift operations, assists with guest concerns and ensures compliance with Company policies, licensing requirements, health and safety standards and other applicable regulations.

The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively in both capacities and demonstrate a strong commitment to guest service, teamwork and operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities:

Food & Beverage Server Responsibilities:

- Greets guests by name wherever possible and provides friendly, professional service.
- Escorts guests to a table when applicable; presents menus and informs guests of daily specials.
- Explains menu items and beverages and makes recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Takes guest orders and serves food and beverages.
- Checks with guests to ensure satisfaction and responds to guest needs.
- Prepares food and beverages, where applicable.
- Resolves guest concerns or seeks management assistance when required.
- Presents bills upon request and processes payments in the absence of a cashier.
- Cleans tables and counters, removes dishes and restocks supplies as required.
- Performs opening and closing duties as required.
- Counts cash float at the end of the shift when applicable.
- Provides coverage for other servers and supports the team as required.
- Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages.
- Performs front-line Food & Beverage duties as required, including Server, Bartender, Busser, Host or other applicable duties.

Dual Food & Beverage Supervisor Responsibilities:

- Oversees front of house and/or back of house Food & Beverage operations on a shift basis.
- Supervises and supports team members, including assigning work, ensuring appropriate coverage and assisting with call-ins and attendance-related matters.
- Provides operational direction and support to team members while promoting a positive and welcoming work environment.
- Completes shift reports and communicates relevant operational, quality and guest issues to management and the next shift.
- Assists with training and tracks team member training progress.
- Supports the screening and selection of new hires, as required.
- Provides information to management regarding team member performance and assists with performance-related processes as required.
- Assesses guest alcohol consumption and takes appropriate action regarding removal or slowing down service, communicating concerns to the Casino Shift Manager and documenting where required.
- Orders Food & Beverage supplies as required and may participate in monthly inventory counts.
- Supports delivery and receiving processes, including identifying delivery deficiencies, damaged, missing or incorrect products and communicating with vendors as required.
- Ensures Food & Beverage products are stored appropriately using FIFO and proper stock rotation practices.
- Provides operational support and Food & Beverage expertise to internal and external guests and team members.
- Performs front-line Food & Beverage duties as required to support business needs.
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with guests, management, team members, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety requirements and other statutory regulations.
- Efficiently manages assigned workload and actively seeks opportunities to build knowledge and support departmental initiatives.
- Performs other Food & Beverage Supervisor duties as required.

Education and Qualifications

- High School Diploma.
- Previous Food & Beverage serving experience; supervisory or leadership experience is an asset.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory capacity is considered an asset.
- POS experience.
- Valid Smart Serve Certification.
- Safe Food Handling Certification is required/considered an asset, as applicable to the position.
- WHMIS certification is an asset.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Gaming License.
- Strong guest service and effective, service-oriented communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both a front-line service and leadership capacity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members, management and other operational departments.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work Environment Considerations

- Regular casino, restaurant, bar and office environment. Position requires standing and walking for extended periods, with some exposure to noise, odors and verbal abuse.
- Duties may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and stretching.
- Non-traditional work hours may be required
