We’re seeking a clinically driven, relationship-oriented Spine Clinical Sales Specialist to support surgeons and healthcare teams throughout the Greater Houston market. This is an excellent opportunity for medical device professionals, surgical sales representatives, and experienced surgical technologists looking to apply their clinical expertise in the specialized field of spine medical devices.
The Role
This field-based position combines operating room (OR) support, clinical expertise, and sales development . You’ll work closely with spine surgeons, OR teams, and hospital personnel to support surgical cases, coordinate implants and instrumentation, provide technical product guidance, and help expand product utilization throughout the territory.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative case coverage and technical support for spine implant procedures.
- Support surgeons and OR teams with product preparation, instrumentation, implants, and procedural workflows.
- Develop a strong understanding of spine implants, instrumentation, and relevant surgical techniques.
- Prepare, organize, and manage surgical trays, implants, and instruments for scheduled cases.
- Build trusted relationships with spine surgeons, surgical technologists, OR staff, and hospital personnel.
- Educate and train healthcare professionals on product functionality, appropriate use, and best practices.
- Provide responsive, solutions-oriented support during surgical cases and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Partner with sales leadership to identify account opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and support territory growth.
- Maintain accurate case documentation, inventory records, and reporting.
- Coordinate timely instrument restocking and ensure appropriate return of instrumentation to sterile processing departments (SPD).
- Follow hospital policies, applicable regulations, and company procedures.
- Support urgent and last-minute surgical cases and travel throughout the surrounding territory as needed.
Qualifications
We’re interested in candidates who bring a combination of clinical knowledge, surgical experience, and strong relationship-building skills. Direct spine sales experience is not required for candidates with relevant transferable experience.
- Medical device professionals with at least one year of experience supporting operating room procedures, surgical cases, or clinical applications.
- Surgical sales professionals interested in transitioning into spine medical device sales.
- Spine-specialized surgical technologists or spine scrub techs with strong clinical experience and familiarity with spine procedures, instrumentation, and OR workflows.
- Experience collaborating with surgeons, OR teams, or other healthcare professionals in a clinical or commercial setting.
- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn complex medical technologies and provide reliable, professional support in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role while managing a changing surgical schedule.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Greater Houston area and surrounding markets, including responding to time-sensitive case coverage needs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant clinical, surgical, or medical device experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Candidates should reside in or have convenient access to the Greater Houston metropolitan area. This role requires regular local travel, operating room case coverage, and flexibility to accommodate changing surgical schedules and urgent case requests. Candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the assigned territory, which may include surrounding communities depending on account coverage needs.
