About this role
The Spa Supervisor works in conjunction with the Spa Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Spa. This includes, but is not limited to, supervising Spa staff, performing reception duties, as well as providing clerical and administrative support, while maintaining excellent service to guest relations. The Spa Supervisor also provides guidance and assistance with retail products in accordance with Legacy standards. This position is based out of the Legacy Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA. Must maintain confidentially and be able to work the assigned schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicates Spa goals and objectives, policies, and procedures to staff.
- Serves as our guest relations lead which includes scheduling appointments, completing check ins, offering recommendations, and answering guest questions.
- Performs administrative tasks including inventorying and ordering products and supplies.
- Responds properly in any emergency or safety situations.
- Complies with the rules set forth by the State of California Barbering and Cosmetology.
- Ensures that each spa guest is provided with and signs a spa health intake form before receiving any services.
- Assists staff with set-up and breakdown of their respective treatment areas.
- Writes weekly staffing schedules and inputs them in Spa software once the Spa Manager approves schedules.
- Monitors providers schedules and make changes contingent on business demands.
- Books and confirms appointments, greets guests, provides tours, and cross promotes food and beverage by always offering guests our Spa food service menu.
- Motivates the Front Desk and Spa staff to up-sell and pre-sell services and products by collaborating with the Spa Manager to increase revenue sales.
- Assists Spa Manager with training new staff and attends all Spa meetings and staff trainings.
- Communicates staff vacation requests, days off, and shift changes in a timely manner to the Spa Manager to ensure that changes do not negatively impact business.
- Maintains guest areas of the Spa to ensure that reception, lounge, treatment rooms, and guest corridors are kept neat, orderly, and well stocked.
- Communicates maintenance and housekeeping needs to the Spa Manger immediately.
- Communicates guest feedback to the Spa Manager to determine if follow is needed.
- Compiles the Spas daily sales and operations report and provides it to the Spa Manger daily.
- Provides daily communication to Spa staff regarding upcoming events.
- Assists Spa Manager with promotions and marketing endeavors, including sponsored and corporate events.
- And other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our hotels primary goal is to provide hospitality and exceed guest expectations for levels of service, quality, consistency, and attention to detail all team members are evaluated against this standard. A hotel operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. During the course of your scheduled shift, you may be asked to assist in areas of the hotel outside of your typical work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Spa Soft software preferred.
- Hospitality management experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a resort spa setting preferred.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
- First Aid, CPR and defibrillator certifications preferred.

HOURS OF WORK:
Schedules can vary from week to week; must be available to work on weekends and holidays. A flexible schedule is required to adjust to the changing needs of business operations and guest services.
