About this role

Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Ambulatory Strategic Operations, the Special Projects and Operations Manager directs and manages initiatives, strategic priorities and programs which have a significant impact upon MUSC Health Ambulatory Services. The Special Projects and Operations Manager works independently and in collaboration with MUSC Leadership to support ongoing optimization of organizational performance and other key operational goals. Ensures project specific resources are aligned with departmental/corporate goals and strategies.

Job Description

Education and Work Experience

MBA or MHA required. 1 year of experience in healthcare operations; finance; business development or project management. Advanced Microsoft Suite skills. Strong understanding of business & financial principles/standards is required. Self- starter with excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills to collaborate with Ambulatory Services Leadership. Experience in project management; proven ability to lead teams, including building cross functional teams. Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and employees, both orally and in writing.

Degree of Supervision

Ability to manage time efficiently and be able to work with a limited degree of supervision.

Licensures, Registrations, Certifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred

Physical Requirements

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 20 lbs. Frequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces. Infrequently work outside in temperature extremes.
