Technical Production Control – Advisor I

About your role:

At Fiserv, an Application Support Engineer will, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary Production Support team, be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, automating and maintenance of critical enterprise application platforms in production.

What you’ll do:

- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause identification, recommending long-term resolutions across the platform.
- Implement application enhancements and fixes for issues reported by downstream teams or end users.
- Resolve incidents and problems, including complex cases, using established problem-solving techniques and processes.
- Recommend process and monitoring improvements.
- Perform deep-dive application reviews and provide feedback to improve application code quality.
- Collaborate with L2 support on data processing and troubleshooting activities.
- Apply end-to-end application support and escalation procedures to deliver effective service operations.
- Create regular status reports using MTTR and MTTA metrics.

Experience you’ll need to have:

- 5+ years of engineering, production support, administration, or similar experience, including at least 3 years as a production support analyst.
- Knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, FTP, SFTP, SAMBA, NFS, and Boot FS.
- Hands-on scripting experience with Shell, Perl, PowerShell, or Python for automation.

- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

- Prior Fiserv experience is required.

Experience that would be great to have:

- Understanding of ITIL concepts; ITIL certification is preferred.
- Experience with service delivery processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, and Release Management.
- Application production support experience in a 24x7 environment, including automation across Unix and Windows and knowledge of Red Hat Linux, AIX, Solaris, and SUSE Linux.
- Knowledge of schedulers and databases, including UNIX crontab, Control-M, AutoSys, Windows Task Scheduler, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and MariaDB.
- Experience with certificate management, Splunk, Dynatrace, PCF, and Kubernetes.

How you’ll work:

- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role, as in-person office experiences support onboarding and stronger productivity.
- This is a full-time, direct-hire position; contract options and unsolicited agency submissions will not be considered.
- Each shift includes at least one weekend day or evening.

Travel:

- Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.
