Are you organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others? We're looking for a Leave of Absence (LOA) Coordinator to join our HR team!
Location: Columbus, Ohio (hybrid role)
In-office: 3 days in office/2 days remote– collaborate, connect, and make an impact
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, process, and administer leave of absence requests, including FMLA, personal, medical, military, and other protected leaves.
- Determine employee eligibility and designate, approve, deny, or extend leave requests in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Prepare, distribute, and track required LOA, FMLA, ADA, and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee leave records and update information in UKG and other HR systems.
- Manage FMLA, LOA, and ADA tracking systems to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
- Administer Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims and reporting processes.
- Facilitate the ADA interactive process and coordinate reasonable accommodation requests.
- Create and maintain state-specific paid family leave matrices and leave resources.
- Communicate leave status, requirements, and return-to-work information to employees, managers, and business partners.
- Partner with branches, workers' compensation teams, and leadership to ensure consistent application and enforcement of leave policies.
- Develop and deliver training related to FMLA, LOA, ADA, and disability programs.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave and accommodation regulations.
- Generate reports, analyze leave trends, and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in an office, administrative, customer service, or professional business environment preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems.
- Experience with HRIS systems, such as UKG, is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and confidential information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and documentation.
- Ability to learn and apply company policies, procedures, and employment regulations.
- Customer-service mindset with a commitment to supporting employees through leave and accommodation processes.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce; bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Demand:
This position primarily involves computer-based work and extended periods of sitting or standing. The role requires routine handling of documents and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
