Position Overview

Actalent is partnering with a growing engineering organization to identify an experienced Electrical Designer to support the successful delivery of complex industrial projects. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys detailed electrical design work and takes pride in producing high-quality, construction-ready drawing packages. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and project teams to develop and finalize electrical layouts, cable routing plans, conduit systems, and installation documentation that can be seamlessly executed in the field.
### Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical design packages for industrial and commercial applications. Design conduit runs, cable tray systems, and cable routing layouts. Create and maintain detailed cable schedules, including cable types, quantities, lengths, and routing information. Complete electrical designs from late-stage engineering through final issue for construction. Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and field personnel to gather design inputs and resolve technical challenges. Ensure drawings and documentation comply with applicable Canadian electrical codes and industry standards. Support design reviews and contribute to the successful execution of projects from design through installation and commissioning. Produce clear, accurate, and field-ready documentation that enables efficient project execution.
### Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience within industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or construction environments. Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting. Strong experience with: Conduit and raceway design Cable routing and cable tray layouts Cable schedules and electrical documentation Construction and installation drawing packages Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
### Preferred Qualifications
Field experience supporting installation, commissioning, or startup activities. Experience with 3D modelling tools and design environments. Exposure to industrial automation, controls systems, or PLC programming. Experience working directly with construction, operations, or maintenance teams.

### Work Environment
This position operates within a hybrid work environment, with in-office collaboration typically occurring Tuesday through Thursday and flexibility available for remote work arrangements. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.59 - $48.72/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
