Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Utilize Creo software to develop design concepts and package components within the vehicle environment.
- Define requirements for, evaluate, design, and select powertrain and cooling systems appropriate for medium and heavy duty trucks
- Define integration requirements and lead the implementation into medium and heavy duty trucks
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to define and validate embedded system controls
- Lead and track activities of component suppliers. Define schedules, track progress, and drive suppliers to meet program schedules and milestones
- Communicate design and project status to team and stakeholders on a regular basis and facilitate technology transfer between PACCAR divisions
Qualifications / Skills
- BSME or equivalent engineering degree required; Master's Degree and PE license preferred
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience is required
- Passion and interest in working on commercial vehicle powertrains, including next generation electrified drivetrains and vehicles
- Overall product knowledge required; engine, cooling, and transmission system experience preferred
- Demonstrated prior design experience; project management, and/or design lead experience preferred
- Experience working within a gated product creation process desired
- Demonstrated CAD / 3D Modeling experience; Creo preferred
- Experience with system-level requirements development, component selection, integration, performance, and validation
- Previously demonstrated resourcefulness, strong technical knowledge, analytical capability, and communication skills.
- Self-directed with excellent analysis and engineering judgement
- Collaborative nature, fosters a sense of team across groups and cultures
- Demonstrated high levels of initiative and innovation
- Ability to perform in a fast-pace, results-oriented environment, while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Up to 10% travel possible
