Location : Field/Location based on Project

Schedule : Monday - Friday

Hours : Monday–Saturday as needed; up to 56 hours per week

FLSA Status : Hourly Non-exempt

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Low Voltage Fire Detection Technician to join our field installation team. This position involves hands-on manual labor and the installation, routing, and support of fire detection and life-safety system components on commercial and construction job sites. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with hand tools, ladders, lifts, and construction materials; working in varying weather conditions; traveling to job sites; and performing physically demanding work. Previous low-voltage or fire alarm experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with the installation of fire detection and low-voltage life-safety systems.

Install, route, support, and secure low-voltage cable, conduit, devices, and related system components.

Pull and organize wire and cable throughout commercial and construction environments.

Install fire detection devices and associated equipment according to project requirements.

Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment safely and properly.

Work from ladders, elevated platforms, and aerial lifts when required.

Perform manual labor associated with fire detection system installations.

Load, unload, carry, and move tools, materials, equipment, and supplies.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety procedures.

Work effectively with technicians, supervisors, project managers, general contractors, and other trades.

Travel to job sites within approximately 80 miles as required.

Work outdoors and indoors in varying weather and job-site conditions.

Complete assigned work safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Perform other duties related to fire detection and low-voltage installation as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

OSHA 10 certification required.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Ability and willingness to obtain an Oklahoma Department of Labor license as required for the position.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Ability to pass a background check.

Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

Ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other outdoor conditions.

Ability to travel up to 80 miles to job sites.

Ability and willingness to work up to 56 hours per week when required.

Availability to work Monday through Saturday when project schedules require it.

Ability to work safely from ladders and elevated work areas.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Reliable transportation to and from work/job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience installing fire alarm, fire detection, security, access control, CCTV, or other low-voltage systems.

Construction or electrical experience.

Experience using hand and power tools.

Aerial lift certification or previous experience operating aerial lifts.

Experience working on commercial construction sites.

Familiarity with low-voltage cable installation and termination.

Additional OSHA or safety certifications.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer-related noise levels, and typical office, paper, and equipment-related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; and maintain mobility to work in a typical office setting. Must be able to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods while reading, reviewing, analyzing, and preparing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries, reports, and presentations in written and verbal formats. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
