Microsoft is considered one of the leaders in Software as a Service in the world of business applications and this organization is at the heart of how business applications are designed and delivered. </p><p>We are looking for a <strong>Senior Software Engineer to join the Azure Bot Service team,</strong> which is responsible for handling the routing of millions of messages across various channels (Facebook Messenger, DirectLine, Email, Slack, etc.) and is an underpinning of various products within Microsoft. Our product powers millions of both conversational and autonomous agents every day as part of the Copilot Studio and other products within Microsoft. </p><p>With the rapid pace of AI innovation, our team is uniquely positioned within Microsoft and the industry to analyze, experiment with, and productize new AI capabilities. As a Senior Software Engineer, your role will be to provide technical leadership for AI workstreams, build features with high quality and maintainability alongside teams of other engineers, operate our AI services, and coach other engineers on the team. You will work across Microsoft to help teams build agents, and you will work with customers to determine how Azure Bot Service and agents fit into their AI strategies. </p><p>Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. </p></div><br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><div dir="ltr"><ul><li><p>Collaborates with stakeholders to determine user requirements. </p></li><li><p>Drives design documentation and dependency identification. </p></li><li><p>Builds, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and maintains high-quality code. </p></li><li><p>Designs and runs experiments to evaluate effectiveness of changes. </p></li><li><p>Partners with PMs to deliver project and release plans. </p></li><li><p>Acts as DRI and participates in on-call rotations. </p></li><li><p>Proactively adopts new technologies to improve reliability, performance, and observability. </p></li></ul></div><br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><h3><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;">Required Qualifications:</span></h3><div>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.</div><div><p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p><p>Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:</p><ul><li>Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.</li></ul><h3> </h3><h3><span style="font-size: 12.0pt;">Preferred Qualifications:</span></h3><div><ul><li>Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python<ul><li>OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python </li><li>OR equivalent experience.</li></ul></li><li>Experience building generative AI applications or services.</li><li>Experience with the Power Platform or M365 Enterprise development. </li></ul></div></div> <br><br><p>Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year. </p><p></p> <p>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
