Healthcare Operations Executive - Public Sector Consulting

AlphaGov is seeking experienced healthcare executives for consulting opportunities supporting government agencies, public hospitals, health systems, and other public-sector organizations.

We welcome current and former CEOs, COOs, CAOs, hospital administrators, medical group leaders, and senior healthcare consultants who can turn complex operational challenges into practical, measurable improvements.

What You May Work On

Assignments will align with your experience and may include:

- Hospital, health system, and medical group operational assessments.
- Organizational structure, governance, and management improvement.
- Patient access, scheduling, throughput, and service delivery.
- Financial performance, revenue cycle, and resource utilization.
- Value-based care, provider alignment, and care delivery transformation.
- Strategic planning, service expansion, and organizational change.
- Performance measurement, executive dashboards, and implementation oversight.
- Interim leadership and executive advisory support.

Your Role

Depending on the project, you may:

- Serve as an executive advisor, subject matter expert, or engagement lead.
- Conduct leadership interviews and assess current operations.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend achievable improvements.
- Develop implementation plans, accountability structures, and success measures.
- Present findings to agency leadership, executive teams, and governing boards.
- Contribute relevant expertise to proposals and client presentations.

Requirements

We are interested in professionals with:

- Significant leadership or consulting experience in hospitals, health systems, medical groups, health plans, or related healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated success improving operational, financial, or service delivery performance.
- Experience leading complex initiatives and working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate analysis into action.

Government and public-sector experience is preferred, not required. Experience with academic medical centers, community health centers, rural healthcare, or publicly funded healthcare programs is also valuable.

You do not need experience in every area listed. We welcome both broad executive leaders and specialists with deep expertise.

Engagement Structure

AlphaGov is recruiting for upcoming proposals and future consulting engagements. Opportunities may include short-term advisory assignments, part-time projects, and longer implementation engagements, depending on client needs and contract awards.

This is a project-based opportunity, not an immediate salaried executive vacancy. Scope, compensation, availability, and responsibilities will be agreed upon for each engagement. Participation is nonexclusive, and inclusion in our network does not guarantee an assignment.
