This individual operates with a high degree of ownership and independence, managing tax compliance, provision, and audit support from beginning to end. The role requires strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to proactively manage competing priorities while communicating clearly across internal and external stakeholders. This is an individual contributor role that interfaces closely with outside consultants, internal finance teams, and senior tax leadership.

What You’ll Do:

- Prepare and assist in the review of the Federal Consolidated Income Tax return and state and local income tax filings, extensions, and estimates for Red Ventures and its domestic subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery

- Prepare book-tax difference calculations and support the annual income tax provision process, including maintenance of deferred tax workpapers, and tax footnote disclosures

- Reconcile and track the prepaid and payable tax accounts including ownership of all tax payments, refunds and cash tax management

- Own the tax notice process end-to-end: logging, tracking, researching, and resolving federal, state and local notices with appropriate urgency and documentation; escalating material items with a recommended path forward

- Support IRS and state/local tax audits, including coordinating IDR responses with outside consultants, gathering and organizing supporting documentation, and managing deliverable timelines to meet exam deadlines

- Maintain the tax calendar and notice tracker, proactively flagging items at risk of slipping and ensuring no deadlines are missed

- Conduct domestic tax research and assist with tax planning projects; communicate findings with supporting analysis and a clear point of view

- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and communicate relevant impacts to the team

- Collaborate with internal finance teams (accounting, FP&A, Treasury) and outside consultants to gather information, coordinate inputs, and drive tasks to completion

- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate tax compliance and provision processes

What We’re Looking For:

- BA/BS degree in Accounting required

- 4+ years of experience in corporate tax, either in-house or at a public accounting firm

- Strong working knowledge of federal consolidated return preparation and state/local income tax compliance

- ASC 740 tax provision experience required

- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar)

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal stakeholders and outside consultants, and to flag risks and blockers early

- Ability to independently analyze return positions, notices, and audit issues, and to bring a point of view rather than passing questions upward

- Ability to research and think critically before escalating, and to tell when an issue needs judgment versus direction

- Acts like an owner, taking tasks from initiation to completion and following up proactively without prompting

- Strong attention to detail, with thorough review of work and tie-out of amounts to source

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA or Master's degree in Taxation

- Experience with Corptax or similar tax compliance/provision software

- Experience with multi-entity consolidated groups and state apportionment

- Experience supporting IRS or state tax audits, including IDR coordination

- Familiarity with tax notice management and resolution processes
