Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description
The Analytical Lab Technician will be responsible for various chemistry lab-related tasks including data management, testing, and lab organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using FTIR and UV-Vis.
- Prepare and standardize solutions, reagents, and samples according to established procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Interpret and document test results in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in troubleshooting analytical issues and method development/improvement.
- Ensure laboratory cleanliness, organization, and proper waste disposal.
- Comply with safety regulations, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, EPA, GMP).
- Collaborate with other departments to support production, quality assurance, and R&D efforts.
- Participate in investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) results and corrective actions.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques.
- Experience with FTIR.
- Understanding of GMP practices.
- Experience in lab testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience or 1 year of experience working in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry or a GMP environment.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
Work Environment
The role is based in a laboratory environment, requiring the use of normal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Lab Technician will work alongside 4-6 other chemists and lab technicians. The shift is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The volume of samples is expected to double since a product was just approved, so additional effort may be required until the end of the year. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
