The National at Ave Maria Golf Club, located in Ave Maria, FL , is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Director of Racquet Sports ! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon , youll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Compensation: $80,000 annually, plus 80% of lessons and commission on events and leagues.

Overview:
The Director of Racquet Sports is responsible for the overall racquet sports operations at the facility and reports directly to the General Manager. The Director ensures that all tennis and pickleball (and related racquet) services and programs are compatible with the interests of members and their guests, while protecting Club assets and facilities and delivering a high-quality member experience.

This role balances on-court instruction (approximately 60%) with administrative, programming, and management responsibilities (approximately 40%). The Director develops and promotes a vibrant calendar of clinics, leagues, socials, and events that maximize facility utilization, support member retention, and attract new members.

Responsibilities:
Programming & Instruction:

- Provide high-quality on-court instruction (approximately 60% of time) including private lessons, clinics, and group programs.

- Schedule, administer, and promote leagues, round robins, drop-in play, ladders, tournaments, socials, and all other applicable events.

- Develop and promote tennis and pickleball clinics, private lessons, adult, junior, membership socials, and senior programs.

- Call new members to conduct a racquet sports orientation and introduce available programs.

Member Experience & Communication:

- Assist members with all tennis and racquet needs and ensure racquet sports policies are being followed.

- Communicate with the Membership Director/Coordinator and Lifestyle team to schedule and publicize racquet events.

- Interact with Members and Guests professionally, helping with changes and last-minute requests as needed.

- Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur and practice service recovery promptly.

Facility & Operations Management:

- Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure the environment is safe for all users.

- Maximize the Clubs racquet facilities to reduce attrition and attract new members.

- Ensure daily assignments are completed to meet Club standards (orderly work areas, furniture/equipment arranged, trash/debris picked up, etc.).

- Assist fellow employees, members, and guests without being directed; participate as a collaborative team member.

Administration & Financial:

- Prepare the yearly racquet sports budget as directed and adhere to standards and policies.

- Assist in all functions of the sports club business and act as a team player.

- Support overall racquet sports programming, events, and tournaments.

Additional Duties:

- Uphold Troon standards and maintain the highest level of professionalism and service.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Proven experience in racquet sports instruction and program management (tennis and/or pickleball).

- Strong on-court teaching ability and knowledge of strategy, technique, and player development across skill levels.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

- Ability to plan, organize, and promote events and programs.

- Budget development and basic financial management experience preferred.

- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and membership staff.

- Professional certification(s) in tennis or pickleball instruction preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to provide on-court instruction for extended periods.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and demonstrate strokes and drills.

- Ability to lift and move equipment (balls, hoppers, nets, etc.) as needed.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Schedule Requirements:

- Flexible schedule required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on programming and member demand.

- Must be available for clinics, socials, and special events.
