Job Purpose
Responsible for the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of bearing systems for OFC products. The role will support new product development, localization& regionalization, performance optimization, and technical issue resolution while ensuring reliability, efficiency, and manufacturability of bearing-related components and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Design and optimize bearing systems and related components for OFC products.
- Perform engineering analysis, simulation, and validation to ensure system performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Prepare high-quality engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and BOM releases.
- Lean NPD Execution
- Participate in product development activities from concept through production release.
- Conduct design reviews, technical risk assessments, and design verification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives, quality targets, and schedules are achieved.
Component Development & Qualification
- Support component development, qualification, and supplier technical evaluation.
- Drive localization and regionalization initiatives for bearing-related components.
- Apply DFMEA, simulation, and testing methodologies to identify and mitigate design and manufacturing risks.
Technical Analysis, Innovation & Problem Solving
- Investigate bearing-related technical issues through testing, data analysis, and root cause investigation.
- Develop technical solutions to improve product performance, reliability, and robustness.
- Support innovation, value engineering, and new technology development to enhance product competitiveness.
Engineering Standards & Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, design guidelines, best practices, and technical databases.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to technical capability development and engineering excellence initiatives.
Product Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support production, product maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to drive product enhancements and knowledge sharing.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related areas
- More than 10 years (BS) or 7 years (MS) working experience or Ph.D. degree in gas bearing, rotor dynamical, high speed centrifugal subjects
Requirements and Attributes
- Proven technical knowledge on centrifugal compressor structure and design principles.
- Strong Knowledge of Oil Free compressor structure design
- Proficient in 3D modeling tools with solid knowledge of GD&T and high-quality engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with digital simulation tools.
- Familiar with FMEA methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of Rotor dynamic & Aero dynamic is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong sense of ownership, cost awareness, and engineering mindset.
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Effective communication skills in English.
