About this role

Description Quality Specialist to support manufacturing quality operations within a fast-paced defense hardware environment. This individual will be heavily embedded on the manufacturing floor and will own key quality activities including Material Review Board (MRB) management, non-conformance investigations, containment activities, inspection planning, product disposition support, and cross-functional coordination between production, engineering, and quality teams. The ideal candidate has experience supporting aerospace, defense, space, automotive, or advanced manufacturing programs and is comfortable making quality decisions that directly impact production throughput. Candidates should possess strong technical aptitude, experience handling non-conforming hardware, and the ability to thrive in an environment where speed, ownership, and collaboration are critical to success. Duties: Manage daily MRB activities and non-conformance workflows Investigate and contain non-conforming materials Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine disposition decisions Support root cause investigations and corrective actions Develop and maintain inspection plans Provide go/no-go guidance to manufacturing inspectors Monitor quality metrics and report findings to stakeholders Coordinate vendor RMAs and material disposition activities Train inspectors and technicians on inspection plans and quality processes Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality and manufacturing efficiency Analyze data and traceability records to identify trends and process improvement opportunities Skills quality control, non conforming material, materials review board, Quality assurance, Audit, Capa, Document control, inspection tools Top Skills Details quality control, non conforming material, materials review board Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-7+ years of quality, manufacturing, or engineering experience Experience managing or participating in MRB activities Experience handling non-conforming material and NCRs Manufacturing floor experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Nice to haves: Aerospace, Defense, Space, Automotive, or Advanced Manufacturing experience AS9100, ISO9001, or comparable quality systems exposure GD&T knowledge First Article Inspection (FAI) experience Inspection planning experience CMM, Faro Arm, or metrology equipment experience Jira, ERP, MES, Teamcenter, or CAD system exposure Electrical or electronic hardware inspection experience IPC Certification ASQ Certification Experience Level Intermediate Level

This is a Contract position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
