Job Title: Chemical Process Lab Technician Job Description
Join our team as a Chemical Process Lab Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in the processing, purification, and chemical fabrication of products through a sequence of batch operations. Your work will contribute to our mission of maintaining high-quality standards in our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Work from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations.
- Operate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of products.
- Collect process samples and conduct lab analysis.
- Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales, and flow meters. Weigh, measure, and check raw materials and finished products to ensure proper ingredients and quantities are used, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOPs.
- Locate materials in the warehouse and transport them to manufacturing areas.
- Maintain required log sheets including batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation logs, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.
- Attend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, demonstrating an acceptable level of understanding of topics.
- Package, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.
- Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and OHSA standards.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work area.
- Communicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues and actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to all corporate, plant, and safety policies/procedures.
- Wear personal protective equipment as applicable.
- Complete all assigned training, including corporate, HSE, and Quality-specific training.
- Assist other chemical technicians in operations, processes, and procedures as needed to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Experience with hazardous chemicals.
- Laboratory skills.
- Experience operating reactors.
- BS in Materials Science or equivalent.
- Experience in a commercial size GMP manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with reactors and chemical tanks of 400L or more.
- Experience with manufacturing specialty chemicals using batch processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information effectively and concisely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a clean-room environment is a plus.
- Comfortable moving chemical drums.
- Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
