About this role
The Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all processes and geographies at American Express. The GRC Platforms and capabilities team within GRC is responsible for building and implementing innovative solutions for risk management applying data engineering principles to data requirements with a strong focus on data governance and data quality.
We are looking for a strategic, experienced individual for the role of Manager, responsible for partnering across business units, enterprise technology teams, and product/platform teams. Develops deep understanding of business logic, intent and long term objectives to align priorities and develop long term solutions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. Advanced degree in Business or Engineering preferred
- A minimum of 2 years experience in SQL on Big Data platforms including GCP
- Understanding of Data Architecture & Data Engineering concepts
- Excellent Analytical & critical thinking with attention to detail
- Hands on experience on data profiling and discovery
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to cater to versatile technical and non-technical audience
- Willingness to Collaborate with Cross-Functional teams to drive validation and project execution
- Good to have skills - Python / Py-Spark
- Hands on experience on Hadoop & Shell Scripting is a plus
- Excellent planning and organizations skills including ability to manage inter-dependencies and execute under stringent deadlines
- Exceptional drive and commitment; ability to work and thrive in in fast changing, results driven environment; and proven ability in handling competing priorities
