About this role

Do you want to help Arla shape the future of milk planning? Working with advanced forecasting, AI, and optimization, you'll assist in developing innovative solutions that predict future milk supply and optimize how milk is allocated across our global production network.

“In Supporting & Cross Functions within IT & Digital, we partner with Global Trading & Planning, Arla International, and Arla Foods Ingredients. You will become part of a strong and collaborative team working closely with business stakeholders to drive value creation, co-create digital roadmaps and ensure we realize the full value of our digital investments across Arla. ”, says IT Value Partner, Mikkel Nissen.

About the job

You will work with two central solutions supporting Global Planning One Milk Balance and One Intake. One Milk Balance is Arla’s internally developed planning system for balancing raw milk supply with the needs of our dairies. It ensures that incoming milk, fat, and by-products are allocated according to site capacities and business priorities. The solution runs on Azure and integrates with SAP IBP, One Intake, and Power BI.

One Intake is Arla’s next-generation milk intake forecasting solution. Built on Databricks, it uses modern time-series models to improve visibility into future milk supply by combining data science, farmer insights, and supply chain planning. More specifically, you will

- Develop forecasting and optimisation solutions using Python, SQL, Databricks, Azure, and MLOps.
- Support the operational performance of One Milk Balance and One Intake.
- Turn analytical insights into actionable Power BI reporting.
- Work closely with global planners to improve forecasting, planning, and decision-making.

Who are you?

You are curious about how data can solve real business challenges and are motivated by continuously improving forecasting and planning solutions through data and technology. We imagine that you bring most of the following

- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
- At least two years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Databricks and Azure-based data solutions, including data pipelines, analytics and modelling.
- A strong analytical mindset and business curiosity, with the ability to translate complex data into practical solutions.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a motivation to work closely with business stakeholders.

What do we offer?

You will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, technology and global milk planning, contributing to solutions that help Arla forecast, balance and allocate milk across its global network. We offer a flexible hybrid working model, competitive salary and benefits, and opportunities for professional development.
