About this role

About Ctrl Alt

Ctrl Alt is designing and operating the on-chain infrastructure powering digital capital markets globally. We bring together a unique blend of expertise in financial markets and cutting-edge in-house technology to deliver tailored, compliant solutions in the alternative assets space. Since launching in 2022, we’ve tokenized over $1.5 Billion in assets across real estate, private credit, funds, litigation finance and more.

We’re building a high-performance, people-first culture where ambitious individuals can thrive. We move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high bar, while keeping things collaborative, open and genuinely fun. At Ctrl Alt ideas win on merit, teams work closely with leadership, and everyone has a voice in shaping what we build next.

We believe that hard work should come with real reward. You won’t just join a company - you’ll help build one. Last year alone, we grew from 17 to 50 people, and this year we’re going faster and further. That means real responsibility, meaningful impact, and the opportunity to grow alongside a company that’s redefining the future of finance through the tokenization of alternative assets.

If you’re excited by scale-up energy, ownership, and the chance to help shape both a business and a culture, Ctrl Alt is where you can do the most rewarding work of your career.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Recruiter to lead hiring for our engineering team as we scale. We are building on-chain infrastructure for capital markets, so we need engineers who can work across backend, blockchain and financial systems. Those people are hard to find and in high demand.

You will own engineering hiring day to day, from lead and senior engineers to blockchain specialists and our placement student programme. You will work as a partner to our engineering leaders. That means shaping how we assess candidates, telling them what the market will and won’t support, and keeping the pipeline healthy across London and Belfast. When needed, you will also support hiring in Product and other functions.

You will work closely with engineering leadership, interview panels and the wider Talent team, and lead the weekly engineering hiring sync. This role is based in our Belfast office.

What you’ll be doing:

- Own the engineering hiring pipeline end to end, from intake to accepted offer, across several live roles at once.
- Run intake meetings with engineering leaders to define the level, the profile, the interview loop and the salary target before a role goes live.
- Build sourcing strategies for scarce profiles and run targeted outreach that gets replies from people who aren’t looking.
- Assess candidates with enough technical understanding to judge seniority, probe what someone actually built, and make a clear recommendation.
- Improve our engineering interview process with the team, from first-round questions to scorecards in Teamtailor, so decisions are consistent and well evidenced.
- Coach interviewers on running a good interview, especially with sourced candidates who are still deciding whether they’re interested.
- Advise hiring managers on market conditions, salary expectations and the trade-offs behind hybrid and location requirements.
- Run debriefs, push for timely decisions, and manage offers through to close, including references and pay conversations.
- Manage agency partners for engineering roles, brief them properly, and hold them to the quality we expect.
- Use pipeline data to track conversion and time to hire, flag bottlenecks, and report progress in the weekly hiring sync.

This role will be a great fit if you:

- Have 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong track record of hiring software engineers, in-house or agency.
- Understand engineering well enough to tell a lead from a senior, and to spot when a CV claims more than the person did.
- Have built pipelines for hard-to-fill technical roles through direct sourcing rather than relying on applications.
- Are trusted by engineering leaders as a partner, and challenge them with evidence when the bar or the process is slipping.
- Can run several searches at once without losing pace, quality or candidate experience on any of them.
- Care about the small details, from accurate notes to a well-timed update and rejections with real feedback.
- Raise your hand early when a search is off track, and come with a plan to fix it.
- Use data and new tools, including AI, to work faster without cutting corners.

Nice to haves:

- Experience hiring for blockchain, web3 or fintech engineering teams.
- Knowledge of the Belfast and London engineering markets.
- Experience running early careers or placement student programmes.
- Experience using Teamtailor or a similar ATS.
