Location: Warsaw

The Global Banking Senior Analyst helps deliver reliable, well-controlled and continuously improving banking services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while supporting other regions when required. Reporting to the Global O2C & Banking Lead, the role provides specialist analysis, governance and cross-functional coordination; oversees performance and controls; resolves complex issues; and supports strategic change, including the transition from SAP ECC to S/4HANA.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Run and protect operations: Oversee daily banking operations including bank account management, payments, bank-statement processing, cash monitoring and bank reconciliations across internal teams and service providers. Track volumes, completion, ageing and service levels, intervene early where delivery is at risk, and protect daily, month-end and regulatory deadlines. Ensure recovery actions have clear owners and are followed through to completion.
- Resolve issues at pace: Coordinate complex, high-risk and time-critical operational escalations from initial assessment through to closure. Bring together the appropriate Markets, banks, Treasury, Technology, Finance and service-provider stakeholders, clarify impact and required decisions, remove blockers and maintain momentum until service is restored. Support root-cause analysis and sustainable remediation so recurring issues are reduced.
- Reduce open items and exceptions: Proactively identify unmatched transactions, exceptions and aged balances before they create material financial, operational or control risk. Challenge recurring patterns, work with teams to establish end-to-end root causes, support agreement of owners and target dates, track actions to sustainable closure and escalate where progress stalls. Verify that preventative controls, automation, process improvements or training reduce recurrence.
- Govern payments and access: Oversee the operational execution of manual, urgent, automated and returned payments, ensuring requests are complete, appropriately approved and supported by required evidence. Monitor adherence to delegated authorities and escalation routes and coordinate timely correction of failed or rejected payments. Maintain effective delivery controls over bank accounts, mandates, signatories, e-banking users and approval profiles.
- Strengthen controls: Monitor key banking controls and provide assurance that they are performed consistently and on time in line with risk management policies, SOX, anti-fraud and segregation-of-duties requirements. Review completion and evidence, identify missed or ineffective controls and coordinate corrective action. Support audits and control reviews by providing clear evidence, explaining operational processes and progressing remediation actions.
- Maintain e-banking connectivity: Monitor banking portals, payment and statement interfaces, SWIFT, host-to-host connections and APIs. Coordinate incident recovery, controlled reprocessing and backlog clearance.
- Drive performance and improvement: Use service data, benchmarks and root-cause insights to improve reliability, efficiency, controls and customer outcomes. Develop recommendations, support testing and implementation, measure benefits and embed lasting change.
- Build resilience: Maintain effective procedures, knowledge transfer, capacity planning and tested continuity arrangements. Address coverage gaps and single points of failure and apply lessons learned from disruption or peak demand.
- Support the SAP ECC–S/4HANA transition: Translate banking requirements into effective operational solutions and coordinate testing, data validation, defect resolution, cutover readiness, controls, procedures and training. During go-live, monitor performance, coordinate recovery and embed stable processes.
Essential Requirements
- At least five years’ experience in global banking, treasury, cash management or finance operations within a multinational organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payments, bank statements, cash and bank reconciliations, bank accounts, SWIFT, relevant payment and statement file formats, and domestic and cross-border banking.
- Experience using e-banking portals, payment interfaces and ERP systems, including SAP ERP within a banking, treasury or finance operations environment; exposure to S/4HANA is advantageous.
- Experience supporting testing, implementation, cutover, stabilisation and change adoption.
- Knowledge of financial controls, SOX, segregation of duties, fraud prevention, audit evidence and data security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use service data and performance measures to identify trends, risks and exceptions, determine root causes and deliver sustainable improvements.
- Experience maintaining practical operating procedures, controls, process documentation and training materials.
- Fluent English and the ability to coordinate stakeholders effectively across functions, banks, cultures and time zones, including ownership of time-critical issues through to resolution.
- A degree or equivalent relevant experience; a finance, treasury or banking qualification is advantageous. The role requires attendance at the Warsaw office three days per week.
Desirable Requirements
- Bank connectivity, APIs, payment factories or treasury-management systems experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 20022 and current developments in global payments.
- Experience supporting bank account openings and closures, mandate and signatory changes, and e-banking access governance.
- Exposure to automation, workflow, data visualisation or process mining.
Personal Attributes & Mindset
- Pragmatic and outcomes-focused, balancing global standards with regional realities.
- Curious, analytical and constructive in challenging the status quo.
- Collaborative and resilient, with the confidence to work through ambiguity, change and digitally or AI-enabled ways of working. Structured, accountable and committed to sustainable delivery.
