Project Manager

What this job involves:

As a Project Manager and Owner’s Representative, you will lead construction and renovation projects across the Charlotte and Western Carolina region, directly representing the interests of our client, Duke Energy. In this hybrid role, you will navigate a dynamic environment where change is frequent, managing the scope, schedule, budget, and associated risks for a diverse range of projects—spanning from security card reader installations and interior renovations to building demolitions and ground-up construction.

At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. By driving projects through JLL’s core phases of initiation, planning, design, building, and closing, you will deliver superior client service while continually enhancing your own professional skills. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and we embrace more innovative ways of working to prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career as you partner with local and client leadership to achieve successful outcomes.

What your day-to-day will look like:

- Partner with the project team to develop project scopes and schedules while actively managing approved budgets and mitigating project risks.
- Serve as a key point of contact for the client, delivering exceptional service and ensuring alignment with Duke Energy Real Estate processes.
- Oversee the activities of the general contractors, subcontractors and special vendors.
- Lead and document weekly project meetings, maintaining comprehensive, accurate electronic project files and administrative documentation.
- Manage procurement processes by coordinating and tracking vendor RFPs, processing purchase orders, and managing invoices.
- Prepare regular project status reports, financial updates and cash flow, monitoring performance against established key performance indicators.
- Leverage cutting-edge project management technology to streamline workflows and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Collaborate with diverse internal and external partners, keeping in mind that what sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe.
- Cultivate a supportive project environment, as we support each other's wellbeing and champion inclusivity and belonging across teams.

Required qualifications:

- Five or more years of relevant experience in project management, construction management, or real estate.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, track, and manage comprehensive project budgets and financials.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a proven ability to identify priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external clients.
- Proficiency in using project management technology tools and a willingness to continually develop technical skills.
- Flexibility to accommodate varied work hours and travel across the Charlotte and Western Carolina region as required for site visits.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse, fast-paced team.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience working as an Owner's Representative within a corporate real estate environment.
- Prior experience managing projects for utility providers or similarly regulated, large-scale client environments.
- Familiarity with architectural drawings, space planning concepts, and furniture specifications.
- Direct experience coordinating complex technical relocations or specialized infrastructure projects.
