About this role
EDI Developer with strong Healthcare EDI, Edifecs, SQL, Java, Azure, AI experience to develop and enhance healthcare EDI features from the product backlog. The developer will work with Product, Business, and QE teams to understand requirements and deliver features through development, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Create/update maps, guidelines and profiles using Edifecs tools such as EDIFECS SpecBuilder, Map Builder, EAM as per functional logic.
Create maps and guidelines (XML, DFF, PFF) for Healthcare EDI transactions like 837, 834, 835, 820 transactions.
Responsible for design, development, and implementation of Edifecs solution. Implement new LOB when new markets are acquired.
Set up Trading Partner in EDIFECS.
Configure the Edifecs tools, and understand systems integration, application, technical behavior, and business / technical requirements.
Responsible for any configuration changes in Engine configuration files for any TP specific validation.
Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting the transmissions in Edifecs Transaction manager.
Configure Severity files to perform custom error validation.
Coordinate with other application teams and provide needed support to QA team.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience with EDI development and integrations. Excellent understanding of technical and business challenges relating to EDI product upgrades.
Experience with healthcare EDI / HIPAA transactions. Detailed understanding of EDI Healthcare transaction sets, e.g. 270/271, 820, 834, 837 I/P/D, 835.
Experience with Edifecs Healthcare 9.x suite, and Healthcare Payer systems.
Strong hands-on experience in Java, SQL, APIs, and integration technologies.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
Able to explain technical solutions and fixes to stakeholders.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Troubleshoot and fix application issues, work with QE teams on testing and resolving defects.
Experience with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.
Experience with development of Groovy Script.
Preferred / Good to Have
Experience with CI/CD, Git/GitHub, and automated testing.
Experience modernizing or enhancing existing EDI applications.
