About this role
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships to build and lead the partnerships that will power TruTechnologies’ next phase of growth. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role for a relationship-builder who thinks strategically, negotiates skillfully, and thrives in a fast-moving environment. You will own the full partnership lifecycle — from identifying and prioritizing opportunities across a portfolio of partners, through negotiation and launch, to the ongoing operating rhythm that keeps partnerships productive and growing. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with leaders across commercial, product, and operations, and you will represent TruTechnologies to partners at the executive level.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic partnership opportunities across a portfolio of partners, aligning each to clear company growth objectives.
- Build and steward durable relationships across the clinical trial and drug development ecosystem, serving as a trusted advocate and point of contact.
- Develop joint value propositions and lead co-marketing and co-selling initiatives that create measurable, shared commercial outcomes.
- Lead contract and business-terms negotiations, structuring agreements that balance partner needs with TruTechnologies’ commercial and strategic goals.
- Own the alliance operating rhythm — partner roadmaps, KPI frameworks, and executive business reviews that translate strategy into results.
- Build and manage relationships at the executive and C-suite level, and prepare leadership- and board-ready updates on partnership performance and strategy.
- Develop and execute a long-term alliance strategy, anticipating market shifts and positioning the company for sustained success.
- Partner cross-functionally with business development, product, legal, and executive leadership to keep partnerships aligned to company priorities.
- Represent TruTechnologies at industry conferences, partner meetings, and events, which requires regular travel.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience following completion of a bachelor’s degree, ideally within the clinical trial, drug development, or life sciences technology ecosystem.
- A proven track record in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, including ownership of revenue or partnership targets.
- Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of partners and driving joint go-to-market execution, including co-marketing and co-selling.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and sustaining strategic relationships up to the executive and C-suite level.
- Direct experience negotiating contracts and complex business terms.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop plans that drive long-term success.
- Comfort working with data and analytics, and translating insight into commercial strategy and partner decisions.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-stage company, with comfort navigating ambiguity and change.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed (up to 30%, domestic with occasional international).
- Ability to work from our Research Triangle Park, NC office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in business, life sciences, or a related field.
- Familiarity with clinical trial technology categories such as CTMS, eTMF, IRT/RTSM, eSource, or eConsent.
- Familiarity with clinical trial services companies across the ecosystem, such as CROs and central and specialty laboratories.
- Experience developing partner programs or new commercial revenue streams from the ground up.
