The Marriott Phoenix Chandler, located in Chandler- a Southeast suburb of Phoenix, is the newest Full Service Marriott in the state of Arizona! Featuring 264 Guest Rooms and over 21,000 sq ft of event space, this hotel has the largest Ballroom in Chandler, AZ! JOB SUMMARY
The Marriott Phoenix Chandler Hotel, managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our team for the 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM shift . This individual will perform a variety of maintenance and repair duties to ensure the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance.
Responsibilities include general building maintenance, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, drywall and wall repairs, tile work, and maintaining the hotel's preventative maintenance program. The Maintenance Engineer will work closely with other departments to respond promptly to maintenance requests, address guest concerns, and maintain the overall condition of the property, ensuring an exceptional guest experience consistent with Marriott standards.
This position requires a hands-on professional who can work independently, prioritize maintenance requests, and respond effectively to unexpected issues during the afternoon and evening hours. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and brings a positive, team-oriented attitude to the workplace.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and hotel equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, prioritizing guest room issues and operational needs during the assigned shift.
- Perform general electrical repairs involving appliances, switches, fixtures, motors, and other electrical components within the scope of training and authorization.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes, drains, and sanitary systems.
- Complete repairs to doors, windows, woodwork, drywall, wall coverings, carpeting, tile, and other interior finishes.
- Perform general mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, and other hotel equipment.
- Addressing guest-related maintenance concerns professionally and efficiently while minimizing disruptions to the guest experience.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and maintenance issues.
- Assist with maintaining the hotel's preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment and facilities remain in proper working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, preventative maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Complete required maintenance logs, work orders, and reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate outstanding work orders, unresolved maintenance issues, equipment concerns, and other important information to the appropriate team members during shift handoff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care and storage of tools and equipment.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures, Marriott brand standards, and Pyramid Global Hospitality policies.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by management.
What are we looking for?
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience in hotel, resort, commercial building, or related maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of general building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- A positive, engaging, and welcoming attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during the afternoon and evening shift.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond professionally to guest requests and collaborate effectively with other hotel departments.
- Flexibility to work the scheduled 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM shift, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
- Commitment to workplace safety, preventative maintenance, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the hotel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, crouch, kneel, push, and pull throughout the duration of a shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and perform maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, mechanical spaces, and other hotel facilities.
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools, equipment, and protective gear as required.
