About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

The opportunity

This Reserving Manager position plays a key role in supporting the EO Actuarial Reserving function. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Reserving & Partnering, you’ll combine exceptional stakeholder engagement with deep actuarial expertise to influence business strategy, drive modernisation initiatives, and ensure robust reserving practices throughout the organisation.

Acting as a key link between Actuarial, Finance, Planning, Pricing, QBE Capital, Underwriting/Claims and QBE Group, the role is critical in aligning reserving activities with strategic priorities, enhancing collaboration, and delivering insights that create measurable value for QBE.

Your new role

- Strategic Alignment: Maintain consistency in assumptions across Reserving, Planning, Capital Modelling, and Pricing including partnering with other Group Divisions where required. Partner with QBE Capital to achieve Division-led reserving goals and support Group Actuarial in deepening understanding of reserving results.
- Governance & Reporting: Oversee valuation processes, prepare Audit Committee reports, RITC documentation, Board papers, and Group reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Portfolio Collaboration: Work with Planning & Performance, Pricing, and Product Leaders to embed reserving analysis into decision-making and optimise capital utilisation.
- Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships across Finance, Planning, Pricing, Capital, Underwriting, Claims, and Group functions, acting as a trusted advisor on reserving matters. Facilitate collaboration, challenge constructively, and translate technical insights into clear business recommendations that support strategic decision-making and delivery of organisational objectives.
- Continuous Improvement & Modernisation: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across reserving processes, systems, and governance frameworks, driving efficiencies, enhancing controls, and improving insight generation. Support the development of team capability and embed a culture of learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Leadership: Lead and develop actuarial team members, build strong stakeholder relationships, and drive improvements in operational efficiency and customer focus.

About you

- Commercially aware, collaborative, and able to influence strategic decisions.
- Experienced in corporate or consulting environments, with a focus on general insurance.

- Experience in leading operational processes and providing technical analysis insights.
