Job Title: Senior Python Developer
Location: BGC
Work Setup: Hybrid
Work Schedule: Morning shift
Compensation Flexibility: Open to negotiation for highly qualified candidates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain asynchronous backend services using FastAPI and Pydantic models for request and response validation.
- Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs with structured error handling and consistent response formats.
- Develop and optimize PostgreSQL database interactions using SQLAlchemy 2.0-style ORM patterns, mapped classes, and relationship loading strategies.
- Integrate backend services with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Dremio through PyArrow Flight or Arrow Flight.
- Manage database schema changes and migrations using Liquibase XML changesets within Maven-based workflows.
- Develop and maintain automated tests using pytest and unittest.mock to validate application functionality and dependencies.
- Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment workflows involving Kubernetes and Helm.
- Troubleshoot backend, database, and integration issues while maintaining application reliability, performance, and code quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6–8 years of experience in Python backend development or a closely related software engineering role.
- Hands-on experience developing asynchronous applications and REST APIs using FastAPI.
- Experience with Pydantic for request validation, data modeling, and response serialization.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy 2.0-style ORM development, including mapped classes and relationship loading strategies.
- Experience designing REST APIs with structured error handling and consistent response schemas.
- Experience implementing database migrations using Liquibase XML changesets and Maven-based workflows.
- Experience writing automated tests using pytest and mocking dependencies with unittest.mock.
- Familiarity with PyArrow and Arrow Flight for data access and integration.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm deployment concepts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience integrating applications with Snowflake and Dremio.
- Experience using Arrow Flight to access or transfer data between services and analytical platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-native application deployment and container orchestration.
- Experience troubleshooting database connectivity, query performance, and backend integration issues.
