About this role

At R1, we’re transforming how healthcare works by combining nearly two decades of revenue cycle expertise with advanced technology, including analytics, AI, intelligent automation and workflow orchestration. We pair that technology with the irreplaceable expertise of our people to help hospitals, health systems and medical groups improve financial performance, simplify administrative complexity and create better experiences for patients and providers.

All Together Better defines our culture and the way we work. We’re a diverse, global team united by a shared mission to make healthcare work better for all. Across technology, operations and support functions, our people bring deep expertise, empathy and ingenuity to the work we do. Here, collaboration fuels progress, adaptability sparks innovation and every voice can help shape what’s next for R1 and the future of healthcare.

R1 is the leading provider of technology-driven solutions that transform the patient experience and financial performance of hospitals, health systems, and medical groups. We are the one company that combines the deep expertise of a global workforce of revenue cycle professionals with the industry’s most advanced technology platform, encompassing sophisticated analytics, AI, intelligent automation, and workflow orchestration.

As a Senior Manager, PhareOS Implementation , you will lead new client installations of PhareOS, R1’s AI-native revenue cycle platform, guiding health system clients from initial scoping through go-live. You will manage multiple implementations concurrently and serve as the primary point of contact for client IT leadership, keeping our product, engineering and data integration teams aligned throughout each engagement. The role combines detail-oriented project management and client partnership with the technical depth to oversee complex data integrations and engage in the details when key project decisions arise. Demand for PhareOS is growing rapidly, and our implementation team is growing with it. Beyond delivering your own projects, you will help shape our engagement model and build the playbook for how we implement going forward.

What you’ll do

- Lead multiple PhareOS implementations concurrently, from kickoff through go-live, building and overseeing project plans that span technical, operational and client-facing activities
- Own the relationship with client IT leadership, understanding how health system IT organizations operate, make decisions and set priorities, and using that insight to build trust and sustain engagement
- Serve as a confident, capable and empathetic representative of R1 at every level of the client organization, anticipating questions and concerns and communicating proactively, in writing and in person
- Run project meetings and drive decisions, clarifying who is responsible for what, by when, and which items require escalation
- Oversee technical implementation progress, particularly data onboarding, coordinating with our technical delivery teams so client data lands on schedule while staying close enough to the details to make decisions when input is required
- Proactively identify project and technical risks and mobilize the right resources to address them before they materialize
- Coordinate product, engineering, operations and capability teams in support of go-lives, ensuring the extended project team presents as one team to the client and feeding implementation learnings back to internal teams
- Shape best practices in our deployments; where precedent does not exist, use sound judgment to choose a path, execute, and codify it into a repeatable implementation playbook
- Balance your time between client-facing work and internal coordination

What we’re looking for

- 7+ years leading multi-workstream healthcare technology implementations involving complex data integrations and change management
- Experience managing executive-level relationships within health systems
- Experience with healthcare data and/or revenue cycle workflows
- Technical depth to oversee complex data integrations and make informed decisions on key project matters, without needing to perform the hands-on technical work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage audiences from client executives to working-level team members
- Ability to get up to speed quickly and lead your own workstreams within your first few months
- Preferred: background in AI-driven or SaaS platform implementations
- Preferred: PMP or similar project management certification
- Preferred: experience with HL7v2, FHIR and other common healthcare data types

This role might be right for you if…

- You want to work with modern, AI-native healthcare technology rather than legacy systems
- You enjoy shaping how the work gets done, not only following an established process
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and first-of-kind deployments, and bring your own ideas for improving how we work
- You manage multiple simultaneous priorities with sound judgment, strong organization and attention to detail
- You act with high integrity and poise, and influence others positively, including in difficult conversations
- You thrive on a supportive team that also sets high standards
- You want to help build something early rather than inherit something already established

Your first 30 days vs. by 90 days

- First 30 days: Learn the PhareOS platform and our delivery approach, shadow active implementations, join client calls, and build relationships with key client and internal contacts.
- By 90 days: Independently lead project meetings and your workstreams, with support from your Director as needed.
- Success looks like: Owning your client relationships with confidence, driving implementations to on-time go-live, and leaving our delivery model stronger through the processes and lessons you codify along the way
