About this role

ABOUT 8FLEET

8Fleet is hiring! We are a rapidly growing LA-based technology and logistics startup building the operational infrastructure for both autonomous and non-autonomous rideshare fleets. Our drivers are at the center of everything we do, and as we scale across the West Coast, we are building a support team to make sure every driver gets fast, clear, friendly help when they need it.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking Driver Support Representatives , based at our Los Angeles HQ, to be the first voice our drivers hear when they call in. You will answer the driver support line for our West Coast markets, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego, and resolve questions about vehicles, apps, schedules, accounts, accidents, and performance.

This is a fast-paced phone role: on a typical shift you will handle a steady stream of calls, often 15 to 20 an hour, and you will be measured on how quickly and accurately you get drivers what they need. Your work frees up our Fleet Supervisors to coach drivers and manage what is happening on the ground.

This is an entry-level role built for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys helping people, and likes keeping a lot of moving pieces organized. As one of the first members of our driver support team, you will help shape how support works at 8Fleet.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, hourly, on-site. Shifts vary and include early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Inbound Driver Support: Answer inbound calls and texts from drivers across our West Coast markets and resolve their questions quickly and accurately.
- Vehicle, App, and Account Issues: Troubleshoot issues with vehicles, fuel cards, scheduling, rideshare apps, and accounts, and help drivers get back on the road.
- Accident Intake: Be the first point of contact when a driver calls after an accident, staying calm, collecting the right information, and handing off to the right team.
- Performance Questions: Answer driver questions about their performance and help them understand what is expected.
- Escalation and Handoffs: Route issues you can't resolve to Fleet Supervisors, Market Managers, and other operations teams, and follow up so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Documentation: Log every interaction accurately so the team has a clear record of each driver's history.
- Process Improvement: Spot recurring questions and pain points, and share ideas that make the driver experience better.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in a call center, customer service, or other high-volume, phone-based role, or a strong aptitude for it.
- Clear, friendly, and professional communication, with comfort being on the phone most of your shift.
- Ability to stay calm and empathetic with drivers who may be stressed or upset, including after an accident.
- Comfort working across several apps at once, including typing notes while on a live call.
- Strong attention to detail and the judgment to know when to resolve an issue and when to escalate it.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts on-site in Los Angeles, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

NICE TO HAVE

- Spanish proficiency.
- Current or prior rideshare or gig driver experience.
- Experience with tools like Quo, Samsara, Deputy, AtoB, or the Uber driver platform.
- Experience with accident intake, insurance claims, or incident reporting.
- Background in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.

COMPENSATION

- $24 per Hour
