About the role

The Make FP&A Manager is a senior L5A role within the post-Prism Supply FP&A operating model, supporting the Make planning and performance management capability. The role converts manufacturing activity, production cost, process-order performance, conversion cost, usage, yield, scrap, manufacturing overhead and cost-center movements into clear, action-oriented insight for Make leaders, regional teams and functional cost owners.

The role sits between the Make Director / Make Planning Lead, regional Performance Managers, Manufacturing, Costing, Data/DDH, D&T and Supply Finance teams. It is expected to manage driver-based analysis, coordinate forecast and planning inputs, support Prism dashboard and data-product adoption, and reduce reliance on fragmented Excel-based reporting.

Success in this role means moving Make FP&A from manual number production to standardized, self-service and action-oriented performance management: what happened, why it happened, so what, what action is required, who owns it and by when.

Key Responsibilities

◆ Make performance insight and variance analysis

·       Manage accurate and timely analysis of Make actuals, forecast, AOP and scenario views using Prism standard dashboards, SAP data and agreed definitions.

·       Explain key movements in production cost, conversion cost, process-order variance, yield, usage, scrap, overheads and cost-center performance through clear driver-based analysis.

·       Prepare senior-ready performance narratives and support monthly Make routines, close reviews and forecast discussions.

·       Translate manufacturing performance into practical recommendations, risks, opportunities and accountable follow-up actions.

◆ Forecasting, planning and scenario support

·       Coordinate AOP, forecast and latest-estimate inputs for Make cost areas, ensuring assumptions, activity drivers and cost movements are transparent and aligned with Prism logic.

·       Maintain driver-based views of production volume, routing/activity assumptions, conversion rates, BOM/routing impacts, standard cost movements and cost-center trends.

·       Support scenario modelling linked to production plans, site performance, SKU mix, efficiency changes, productivity actions and one-off operational impacts.

·       Identify risks and opportunities impacting Make performance and support timely escalation through the Make Director and relevant stakeholders.

◆ Prism adoption, standardization and continuous improvement

·       Promote the use of standard Prism dashboards, routines, taxonomy, KPI definitions and data-quality controls for Make performance management.

·       Challenge duplicate manual reports, repeated reconciliations and local workarounds where standard Prism outputs exist.

·       Document recurring process gaps, data-quality issues and improvement opportunities and feed them into the Prism continuous-improvement roadmap.

·       Contribute to Lean, automation and AI-enabled improvement opportunities that reduce cycle time, improve insight quality and strengthen cost-owner accountability.

◆ Stakeholder partnering and action ownership

·       Partner with Supply Operations, Manufacturing, plant finance, Costing, Performance Managers, Data/DDH, D&T and regional Supply Finance teams.

·       Translate complex SAP, Material Ledger, process-order, cost-center and operational information into simple messages for business stakeholders.

·       Support action-oriented performance routines by tracking agreed actions, owners, deadlines and business outcomes.

·       Provide constructive challenge to functional cost owners and finance stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships and service discipline.

◆ Controls, data quality and governance

·       Ensure analysis is based on agreed data sources, controlled logic, documented assumptions and transparent reconciliations.

·       Validate Prism MVP and industrialized DDH / Databricks outputs where Make process logic, business scenarios or data definitions are in scope.

·       Identify SAP, Material Ledger, process-order, routing/BOM or cost-center data issues impacting Make performance reporting and support root-cause follow-up.

·       Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, control discipline and compliance with Diageo finance and data-governance requirements.

Key Systems & Tools

·       SAP FI/CO/MM, Material Ledger, process orders, cost centers, standard costing, BOM/routing and manufacturing variance data.

·       Prism dashboards, Power BI, Excel and enterprise reporting / self-service analytics tools.

·       DDH / Databricks industrial data products and MVP outputs where relevant to Make performance management.

·       Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and collaboration tools for performance routines, documentation and stakeholder communication.

·       Advantageous: familiarity with Alteryx outputs, Power Automate, SAP BW, Anaplan / IBP or other planning and reporting platforms.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·       Accuracy, timeliness and quality of Make actuals, forecast, AOP and scenario analysis.

·       Quality of driver-based explanations for production cost, process-order variance, yield, usage, scrap, overhead and cost-center performance.

·       Adoption and effective use of Prism dashboards and standard Make performance routines.

·       Reduction of manual reporting, duplicate Excel work and recurring reconciliation effort.

·       Quality of stakeholder partnering, action follow-up and support to Make performance discussions.

·       Timely escalation and resolution support for data-quality, process or control issues impacting Make visibility.

What you'll bring

·       University / college degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field.

·       5+ years of experience in FP&A, Supply Finance, manufacturing finance, controlling, performance reporting or business analytics; FMCG or complex manufacturing experience preferred.

·       Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, production planning, process orders, standard costing, conversion cost, yield, usage, scrap, overheads and COGS performance.

·       Experience supporting planning, forecasting, actuals review and performance routines across markets, plants or regions.

·       Strong SAP FI/CO/MM knowledge; familiarity with Material Ledger, BOM/routing logic, process orders, cost centers and production variance analysis.

·       Comfortable using Power BI, Excel, SAP extracts and self-service reporting to analyse trends, variances and cost drivers.

·       Understanding of DDH / Databricks concepts, data lineage, dashboard adoption and workflow automation is advantageous.

·       Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to create senior-ready analysis, commentary and presentation materials.

·       Fluent English written and verbal communication skills.
